Need Xorg To Listen On Network When Started By - kdm-3.4

I have 64bit Gentoo, but untill windows 64bit eddition is released, i need to use a 32bit media player to interface with the 32bit MS-windows codecs for playing media such as ASF or WMV.

to do this, i have created a 32bit envoronment within my 64bit OS.
I need the 32bit envoronment to connect to the Xserver in the 64bit OS.

normally this is as simple as setting the display variable to "127.0.0.1:0"
but the graphical X server is not listening for incomming connections on port 6000.

I know this is done by the KDE login manager (KDM) it dissables tcp logins.
In KDE 3.3, you needed to comment out a "nolisten" line in a config file called Xservers

but ive recently upgraded to KDE-3.4. there is no Xservers config file, they must have moved that setting somwhere else.

Does anyone know where ???

Well... in weeks this thread has has almost no views, and no reply's.

ive found the answer, and for the unlikely probability that anyone else needs this answer.....

the new config file is called kderc.

i suppose different distro's may puy iy in different places, so the best way to find it would be ...

CODE
updatedb && locate kderc | grep 3.4

the grep statement is there to ilter out any old configs from kde-3.3 that may have survived.

Search for the listenTCP=no line, and change it to yes, then re-start X.

I am using gdm. There is a very friendly config program named gdmconfig together with gdm.
Is there some gui program to kdm like gdmconfig to gdm?

Most KDM settings can be done via the control pannel, more complicated things can be don by tweaking the kderc config file. and there is a program called kdmtheme on kde-look.org for setting up, and installing KDM themes.

    (11)
On my main computer, I got SuSE 10.0 installed as a dual boot with no problems except the network.
SuSE sees my integrated NIC card (it's on the motherboard) but I can't get online! I went
into terminal, did a SU - and logged in and then did an ifconfig... eth0 is there but no IPv4
address, just an IPv6 and then the loopback address. Could it be that I'm running the 32 bit
version of it and when I went to install, it was like "Cool computer, but.... this is 32 bit and
    you're using a 64 bit processor!!!!"? Just wondering. I could probably download 10.1 6....

Okay. To start off let me, please, declare that I am an absolute beginner to Linux. I've been
spoon fed my entire life by Microsoft, and have finally become fed up. Not only that, but I've
also decided to get a bit more .. "in tune" with how computers and operating systems work. Linux
seemed good, so I started my journey. I now have Ubuntu 5.10 ("Breezy Badger) up and running, and
running darn good! Except, a little (actually, major) problem. I can't get my wireless
connection to work. Which isn't surprising seeing as how it normally takes me several hour....

On my new Kubuntu install i have managed to make my WLAN connection set up by using "kdesu konqeror"
and then adjusting in settings. But for some reason the connection won't start at startup. I
have to use kdesu to enable and activate both connections. Which is a problem on this computer
because it is a family box and my parents cant do that and i dont want them to have the ability to
gain root just in case. Any ideas - this is really annoying.....
