Nano Technology - has entered the machine level

yuhuu
I just read "http://space.newscientist.com/article/dn11158-motionsensitive-spacesuits-could-generate-power.html" And Guys,,this is really amazing...This makes me imagine about a future of biomachines, like once I saw in sci fi series...Gosh,,I thought it was fantasy,,but if this guys harness the power of this protein...Some day we wont have any electricity bills..and nanobots of course would be everywhere..Gosh imagine a nanobot cleaning your veins from any excess of colesterol..or anotherone that picks and eliminates any blood dirtiness,,,Gosh that will ensure good health for life..imagine you playing futball with your grandfather..Gosh it could be possible..if this nanobots come through,,but like allways it could have a sad side too...imagine it being used in wars as nanokillers..Amazing,,just amazing..

someday nanogenerator for electricity will be everywhere. so we will not need any charger for our gadgets. of course for spaceship, industry we should pursuit for new energy resources. such micro-scale of reaction inside star.

Spacesuits will one day generate their own nanopower.

How about the protein prestin found in the cilia of the human ears. These prestin accept nanovoltages which they turn into cell elongation and contraction. The result is sound amplification.

The above protein is being investigated toward the day that similar proteins will cover astronauts suits and produce power from the astronauts movements. You can read more about it at

This technology seems utterly revolutionary and cutting-edge! yuhuu you touch on a very interesting point though - the scope for this technology to be used for evil. If nanotechnology is capable of being harnessed in such a way as to make it a weapon then this is extremely worrying - the micro-Antithesis of the nuclear bomb. (Small scale technology that could have similar genocidal outcomes.)

Obviously this technology does have a significant amount of 'good' uses. Also obvious is the fact that the cost of the technology is astronomical (no pun intended tongue.gif) and it will probably be a long time - I'd say upwards of 25 years - before this technology becomes a deomestic possibility.

environment. (Personally, I think they are ignoring Opera). The development team is working hard to
get this running on Firefox as well as Internet Explorer. They are adding support for "major,
leading browsers" quickly and efficiently when possible. Macintosh users (for Mac OS X) can also
download this application which is under 2MB in size. You can download SilverLight 1.0 Beta ....

QUOTE IBM teams with Infineon, Macronix on replacement for flash memory chips IBM on Monday
announced that it was working with Infineon Technologies and Macronix International to develop
memory technology that could in the future replace flash memory chips in computers and portable
storage devices. Phase-Change Memory (PCM) technology uses a special material, called phase-change
material, to store memory data. It can change its structure from an amorphous to a crystalline state
by using electrons to pass energy through the material, said Chung Lam, manager of the....

"WiFiber" tech faster than fiber? Virginia startup GigaBeam set their sights high with their
new wireless system: they're taking on fiber. They dub the tech "WiFiber," and are positioning
the product as a replacement for fiber optic pipes in situations when they're too expensive, too
harmful to the environment, or just too slow to deploy, and they're claiming one gigabit per
second speeds to sweeten the deal. WiFiber operates in the 71-76, 81-86, and 92-95....

QUOTE Apple Computer Inc. on Tuesday lauched a new 1-GB iPod nano, priced at $149.     The new
iPod nano is distinctive in the company's device lineup for its ultrathin design, which Apple
boasts is thinner than a pencil.     The nano is sharply discounted from the 4-gigabyte and
2-gigabyte iPod nanos currently available on the market.     The company also said it is cutting
prices on 512 MB and 1 GB iPod shuffles to $69 and $99, respectively. Before the price cuts, a 512
MB shuffle could cost roughly $100, while a 1 GB shuffle could cost about $129.     "....

Last week, Apple introduced two new products - the new and very sleek & slim iPod Nano and the
so-called "iPod Phone" (officially the Motorola ROKR) that will debut in the US and other areas in
association with telecom giant Cingular Wireless. First, here's the dope on the device that is
in all likelihood be more useful to me than the other - the iPod Nano. An ultra-thin style and a
height not more than that of a regular pencil make the Nano stand out from the rest of the pack.
Apple devices usually look better than most, but his one also pushes performance. I....
