I can't understand your post completely. From what I can understand you are trying to connect to a MySQL database located on AstaHost via another website? First I would like to say that you can use HTML, PHP, Java est. with AstaHost's sites and simply move your site here (if it is small it shouldn't be a problem). But if that is to much work then you could connect to AstaHost's database by going the the CPanel and allowing remote access. If you want to connect to your personal MySQL server and put it on AstaHost then you will need to configure your MySQL setup file. There should be a lot of tutorials on how to allow remote access to your MySQL server. This however is not recommended because AstaHost's Databases are much more secure then most personal servers. I presume you are talking about linking the Astahost's MySQL server to your own website, which is possible as long as you know the IP address of the MySQL (with the credentials for your MySQL database). You just have to code your website to connect to Astahost's MySQL server and retrieve the data from your MySQL database.

Okay been a while since i posted i dont really understand what you asking but from what i am gessusing is your triing to connect your site with astahost's data base i cant really help there as i dont know much about databases's but to get into your asta data base go into you asta host cpanel and click phpmyadmin to control it or to make a new data base i think it is mysql some thing i cat remember but it starts with that Good Luck

Mysql Problem
and i spose phpmyadmin (0) well, yesterday i was trying to make a database on my computer with phpmyadmin. It worked the day
before and all the other times but now it wont let me, access is denied. I just get an error (1045
Access denied for user root@localhost using password :no) so basically wot do i do? i hadnt touched
anything, it just stopped working. i cant think of anything that could have happened besides that my
IP had chnged from the last time i used it. i cant use phpmyadmin or the command line. oh and im
using xampp by the way, and its on my jumpdrive using portable apps. anyone kn....

(1) Server Updation, a term heard quite often, be it during the Mobile Telecom Service Provider's
GPRS woes or a hosting service's unavailability. I have a general idea of what might be going
behind the scene, but could anybody elaborate on the exact technicalities involved in such an
intricate process. Explanations pertaining to our own Astahost would be even more helpful.....
Server Side Includes - Alternative Method To This?
(3) Hi, is there an alternative method that's similar to Server Side Includes? I remember there was
one but forgot what it's called. I need someone to help explain what SSI is because I think
I'm using it but don't know if it's as simple as what I think it is. I use it mainly for
repeating text on my site (like the copyright stuff on each page). Is there another purpose for it?
Just asking because I'm going to switch web hosts soon and it looks like the plan I want does
NOT include SSI support. The package plan includes PHP support but I have no idea ....
Web Server Uplink Speed Is Very Slow
(2) I am running apache web server behind NetGear router. I can access all my documents with sufficient
speed from all computers which are behind same router. . However, same server serves these
documents very slow when I try to access it from somewhere outside. If I remove the router and plug
in cable modem directly to my server, it has no problem. Could somebody please help me in this

How Do I Setup A Web Server?
Web server (14) I was wonder how i could set up a website from my house. I have a old Dell with a P2 that has been
acting as file server for the last year. It runs windows XP Pro, and already has a copy Apache

just a few inquires (1) Admin: This may not be in the right catagory but i could find anywhere better for it to go so i
guess that might be an issue to address I am soon about to get paid hosting, dont worry - its

Fedora 3: Trying To Setup Ftp/http Server
Adding users problem (2) I am helping on developing an Intranet for my school. We have a server with Fedora Core 3 installed
and Apache. I got FTP working too but root access is denied as default. But we have a problem. We
would like users to be able to have accounts for their pages, but we don't want to give root FTP
access. When we go to http://SERVERIP/~account , we get an access denied page. Anyone have any

Server Linking (6) Hey, Back when I was searching for a free webhost, I came across this one (name is obviously
censored and replaced!) http://www.somewebhost.com But when I looked at their plans, they have
2 servers for hosting. One is paid and the free one. But they have it like, box6.somewebhost.com and
box7.somewebhost.com, but these are two totally different servers! I would like to know how you
do this because when looking at Google IP addresses, the one that hosts Google.com is totally
different than the one that hosts gmail.google.com. Thanks!....
Accessing The Ftp Server
Help Please (5) hello. i have a new web site. i just made it and i cant put any of my stuff on it. i have .htm
files on my computer, and i know how to use my FTP program (Transmit). i know my password and
username. i just cant figure out the server. i thought i knew it, but apparently not. the site
(not up) is marginoferror.com. i thought it was ftp.marginoferror.com, i even tried all the other
URL's they sent me in the e-mail. if anyone has any suggestions i could use them, thanks.

Some questions (5) I'm a huge huge music fan, and decided my next project (now that I have catalogued my 1000 or so
albums) should be to set up a music website. After much deliberation I decided to set one up,
containing album track listings, titbits or useful(less) information, cd covers, links to artists
websites, etc. My thought is, I can list over 1000 albums (getting the info from my own
collection), so do I categorise them and put a lot on one page, with a linking menu at the top, or
do I give each one its own page? I'm thinking 1000 or so pages would take up an awful lot o....
