MySQL Non-access

I don't know if it's another database hiccup or what, because I'm trying to work with something with the database, and when I try to access phpMyAdmin, it's saying wrong username and password...but yet I can access my cPanel just fine...any idea what's going on?

UPDATE: I guess it was just a hiccup of the system, because it seems like it might be back now...dunno...will wait and see...one other question, though- Is there some kind of weekly maintenance that's done to the mySQL servers on Sundays or something, because that's when I seem to run into the most database downtime, though even when I do, it seems to be back within an hour or so.

Hello!
I have a MySQL db access problem too, so I just post in here, hope that's fine. It is not about downtime, but about standard behaviour.
I have been trying to access my database from a subdomain. I have to admit that it took me some time to actually figure out that the problem was the subdomain...
Well, then I tried adding the subdomain to the access hosts, but it didn't work out, the script came up with this
QUOTE
Access denied for 69.50.168.69

So I added this address to the access hosts and now it works fine. But when I accessed this in http: (browser) it came up with links to trap17 astahost and co. so i wonder: what is this IP? Is it a public astahost domain? Does this mean that I just gave free (password protected) access to all people on Astahost?
Not that I don't trust you guys :-P and the data is not really confidential, but I was wondering... Isn't there a better way to provide access from a subdomain to a database?
Just using localhost as connection server didn't work for me, because the subdomain is not on localhost as it seems. So I used the main domain of my site, which implicated that the request wasn't coming from localhost anymore. It came (as my SQL said from this IP address but as I think) from my subdomain. But adding the subdomain to access host didn't fix it. Sorry for repeating, but I want to make the problem as clear as possible.
All answers appreciated,
Ruben

okay, it happened again...prolly just maintenance, but if that was the case, wouldn't the Admin notify us or something? Just wondering...not criticizing.

It also shows the following error when I try to access my site/forum:

This seems like a general problem, but my database is up and running. Check yours again, hopefully it was only maintenance too. Hope these maintenance times don't come to often or too long...

That seems to be the case, since I've only been unlucky enough to try and access things twice during maintenance, but, on the good side, I think the reason why the mySQL's down may be that part of the maintenance is to back said SQL up...who knows?
