| | Does anyone here use Macromedia Flash? I use it for everything. Signatures, graphics, class projects, and of course animation and game making. I also use it for web design. Mostly for web design, ie: Flash navs, flash banners, music players. I'm not really that advanced yet, only know intermediate actionscript..but I'm getting there. If you want to see what I can do, I put everything and anything I knew at the time on this site: www.freewebs.com/rtsblue. Well, that was more of an introduction, than a discussion really. Back on topic, anyone here use flash besides me? |

Like most serious webdesigners I know about Flash can program it, but only ever use it when I cannot talk a client out of it. I am soo glad that Flash is no longer the craze it used to be with every person thinking that thier site should be written in flash , without knowing why , just cos its Flash! I find it too cumbersome for what most sites want, i.e most sites just use it for banners these days, some people still design whole sites in it but there ones are normally the showstopping sites used to promote a movie or a big retail brand. The money involved to develop such a site is amazing! ive seen people charged 20K dollars just for a working framework of a site without content. I hope Flash just kind of dies away and gets replaced with funky Ajax scripts, Ajax has more of a future as far as I am concerned;)

I recently started using Macromedia Flash for making a simple flash website for a friend's project. Nothing too fancy, motion tween here, motion tween there and a few simple actionscripts . Most difficult part is the mailing system, it'll be a bit complicated to make that in flash completely ... still thinking about how to make it

However, the average person prefers flashing colors and animated roll-overs I guess. People who have been using the WWW for a while find it overrated. As for me, well I think Flash is flash. It has a lot of uses, heck even Youtube chose Flash to power it's engine.

I am just learning how to use Flash 8!! It is too difficult for me to manage. Especially the action script. I always forget the function I learnt before. However, I will not stop! And we can communicate with each other while learning!

Your Views On Macromedia Fireworks
Yeah, You graphix peoples... (5) You Hi-Efficency Graphix people are going to kill me for this, however I like Macromeida Fireworks
as a Graphics Designing program. Opposed to Photoshop and Imageready (I've never been a fan of
Adobe, i guess I'm a lil biased) But I always found Photoshop to be too complicated, and I had
no need to read tutorials and such about it.. Fireworks is really simplistic, and allows for
Photoshop-like effects with minimal effort. Anyone else here use Fireworks and have postive stuff
to say? Or suggest a REALLY good reason for me to use Photoshop? (The small majority o....

Adobe Buys Macromedia
(24) This topic was brought to my attention last Thursday at school and I just wanted to know what was
everyone's opinion about Adobe buying out Macromedia? There will be good and bad things about
this merger. Like for example with less companies competing with Adobe, this may mean that Adobe
products will rise in prices /mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif' />
, and become less innovative /sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' />
