let me start this post by saying I HATE WINDOWS. the only thing windows wants is to make easy money with software thats full of bugs and security holes and exploits. I prefer linux for many reasons. first of all unlike windows whose owned by rich stock-holders linux is made by the people, for the people, thats why everything in linux is open-source. This way you can have a look at the source code and see how stuff actually work, and if you for example don't like how something runs you can change it. may I also point out that if your using linux you won't need an anti-virus anymore. Because most people use windows, most of the viruses made are targeted at windows. so please people who use windows please keep using it while the rest of us enjoys the open-source, much more stable and virus free linux.

its been a while that this kind of conversation have started over a peer then into a net. well as unique as we are we also have different kind of needs. thus have different kind of satisfaction that is why it is really hard to press to people that this one product is better than the other. just like for this case of mine, practically i dont like windows when it comes to server kinda stuffs like putting your database system to a windows OS coz anyone could say how unreliable it is. but when it comes to other things aside from server stuffs like games well i would prefer windows in that case so it really come down to what is the need of such individual

Why I May Be Installing Windows Xp Sp3 Again
(7) This is a sad tale of a man and his machine that would not start again. The story continues with a
sorted affair between two operating systems and a battle to win the love of this man’s heart. My
problems began last weekend when I started my computer after it had been off from the previous
night. Everything went normally throughout the POST but once Windows XP started I heard the dreaded
clicking from the hard drive. After several reboots and a Spinrite diagnostic I gave up and called
the time of death around three in the afternoon. This is not all bad because I had....

My Review And Experiance Of Ubuntu Linux
(4) I have been using Ubuntu 7.10 for about a month now. My experiance began when I sent a request for a
free CD to be mailed to me. Several weeks later, it arrived, however I was reluctant at first to
install it, as there was much hassle when I attempted to install my BCM43xx wireless network drivers
for another distro, Suse. Although I had ran a server on Linux for a while previously, it was easy
to do as Linux automatically detected the wireless network card I was using. This was on an older
computer that I ran the server. On my current pc, a Dell Inspiron 1300 Laptop, a ....

Could Linux Become The Dominant Os?
(12) According to the author's opinion, the answer is yes (he's a lawyer, from what I can tell).
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/08/17/triumph_of_linux/ The article also contains some
interesting facts about the devious ways in which Microsoft is trying to derail Linux, most recently
through vague legal threats to enforce patents against Linux distributors that it does not partner
with. Personally I think Linux could become the dominant OS, but many, many years from now.....

How Do I Create Static Routes In Windows Xp?
(11) Here's my setup: My PC connects to my Internet facing wireless router via a USB-pluggable
wireless NIC, the IP address of which is 192.168.1.2 (netmask 255.255.255.0). The IP address of my
router's LAN port is 192.168.1.1. The NIC which is embedded in the motherboard has remained
disabled so far. Everything works OK, but I recently got a hold of a crossover cable, and I started
using it to connect a laptop to my PC. So I enabled the embedded NIC on the PC and gave it an IP
address of 192.168.2.2 (netmask 255.255.255.0, default gateway 192.168.2.2). The laptop&....
Will Using Fdisk Corrupt Windows Partition?
(9) I remember doing this before in the past with a DOS partition. It wasn't working properly, so
the office tech told me to use fdisk and delete that DOS partition. Then recreate it. To my surprise
Windows still worked after that. I always thought that fdisk would corrupt the Windows partition
somehow since it was a destructive partitioning tool. So I have always used Partition Magic instead
for my partitioning needs. If I install Linux on a separate partition and decide to get rid of it
later using fdisk, Windows will still be intact right? From my understanding now,....

Deleting A Corrupt File

The Best Version Of Windows
(42) With all the different flavors of Windows, what in your opinion is the best version? Win95, Win98,
Win98SE, WinNT, Win2000, WinXP, Vista, and even remember Windows 3.1? I hear that hardcore Windows
users are in love with Win98SE for some reason? Is there any justification behind this? I mean
this is a version of Windows that is definitely not supported anymore, but is the security and
stability of this version that much better where it doesn't need support? Personally, I really
like Win2000 over any other version. It seems more secure and stable, and I'm pr....
What Made You Switch To Linux?
(60) I first tried Linux a few years ago, not because I was completely against Windows or anything like
that, but just because I had some free time on my hands. I started off with Mandrake 9.0 which was
very user friendly and Windows-like. After reading through a bunch of message boards and learning
which distros are good for what, I soon realized my current distro was great for Linux noobs. So
then I decided to try something a little more advanced like Slackware which I knew had a steep
learning curve. Since then I've been using Slackware as my main OS and couldn'....
Prove To Me That Linux Is Better (For Gaming)
For Gaming... :) (21) Ok here is a challenge to all the hardcore linux folks out there. I will greatly accept the switch
if it can be proven that Games will run as good under linux as they do under windows. Im a windows
guy at heart, but I do work on unix systems at work. Im a gamer, and that will never change. I had
switched over to linux about 4 years ago, and I couldnt play crap on linux without dual booting to
windows. (I think it was Wine emulation they were running under) Now have there been some
improvements in being able to play windows games smoothly on linux? If so, please let me....

Windows Not Recognizing Ipod
(19) OK, I'm running Windows XP and my iPod is not detected when I plug it in. The only things that
I could guess are wrong are that I recently had a trojan, known as BackDoor-AWI and that my router
