Ipod Shuffle Has Grabbed 58 Percent Share

jedipi
According to Mac News World, iPod shuffle has grabbed a 58 percent share of the flash-based digital media player market in less than six months, up from 43 percent in February.
what a successful product!

This is quite supprite me, I thing iPod shuffle is not the best
digital media player in the market. some good product
with color screen and more features are available in the market as well.

But why iPod shuffle just grabbed more market share??
That;s an interesting question...

ooh..forgot the put the source here

It depends on how you look at it.

The ipod shuffle is cheap based on capacity, especially when you take into account sound quality and size.

For those that are about to link to cheaper same-storage players, realize that they usually have not-so-hot sound quality.

The iPod shuffle really is a good product. Really the only downside when compared to other flash players is that it doesn't have a screen, but it really doesn't need one. Even people using a full size iPod don't always need a a screen. they just set it to shuffle and listen away. then most flash players have small screens and a bad user interface, so not even having one is not really a bad thing. The other thing that has help the shuffle is the iPod name. Now anyone can own an iPod. The name sells.

This is just as Steve Jobs had predicted at the Mac Worldwide Developer Conference, at this rate, Apple will have taken 76% of the entire Music Device Marktet.

The reason for this sudden spark of love for the Shuffle is because of the presence that the iPod has already created, thereby making everyone want to buy a Shuffle because they've already got an iPod, it's all about targeting your audience at the right time.

Size would probably be some sort of a factor.. Full iPods are not humungous or anything, but a Shuffle is just one quarter of the size of a full iPod. Smaller means easier to take around (and easier to lose, lol), and lower capacity means cheaper. Those are what I consider the main reasons.

Come on you guys dont you Ipods suck there very small in size and memory. dry.gif And the battery runs out in 17 months and it costs about the same amount of money to get a new battery as when you bought the Ipod. mad.gif My friend has a creative labs player it is really nice it has 40 GB of space and a very long battery life time like 4 years or something he also got a 2 year warranty on it too. smile.gif Plus the battery is removable and the battery only costs $40-$50. biggrin.gif

The iPod shuffle has incredibly clever marketing: the way they have done it is that they've reversed their biggest weakness, which is the lack of a screen, and used it as an advantage, as it means the user can't see what song is being played which makes 'life more random'.

Ironically the player is much inferior to players of the same price with a screen, with SD expansion, with FM radio, with voice recorder, none of which the iPod shuffle have.

The reason it has this market share is becuase of the marketing and also the fact that the other iPods have been so popular.

The iPod shuffle doesn't have all the extras, but it does what people really want: to listen to their music. Because when it comes down to it, thats what people use an MP3 player for.

I agree with that first of all in a list of features I'd call compulsary for an MP3 player I would definitely have a screen at least. I'd hate to be unable to see the name of the song I'm listening to, there are CD players that do that...

Also the iPod shuffle is more expensive than MP3 players that have a voice recorder (very useful) and also FM radio (also very good) and I don't think simply the name iPod can compensate for that.
