So in regards to the last post, does this not work at all?

If it does, does anyone know if it causes any troubles?

You will probably only see a little bit if not any difference. There is only so much tweaking you can do to get your speed upto your line speed but if you really want speed you should just upgrade your internet connection to a faster line speed. It's just not worth mucking around for the few extra bits a second.

Sounded like a great idea, I would have loved to get 20% of my bandwidth back but...

I type gpedit.msc is run and an error comes up

"Windows cannot find 'gpedit.msc'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, then click Search."

Any help?

I have a 128k connection that is shared between 6 computers. one computer connects directly to the
internet and the others connect through this shared connection. Now I know that already, this is not
a good idea, because 128k split over so many will really slow it down, but until I can get a second
line there's really no way around it. And I know that the host computer will take the lion's
share of the bandwidth. My question is: How can I make sure that the remaining speed is divided

  3. The Importance Of Limiting Bandwidth ...
    a theory and a question. (13)
A very important criterion in choosing a host for your Website is bandwidth. Most of us will ask
about it, right after they ask about "space". But do we really understand what bandwidth is, and
why most hosts put a limit on it? First, what is bandwidth? Put simply, bandwidth is the amount
of data allowed to occur between a certain computer and the rest of the Internet. As such, there
are many types of bandwidths. For example, I use DSL service to log onto the Internet. My DSL
subscription has a bandwidth limit of 1024 KBit/second. This means that the maximu....

I am plagued with the problem of limited downloads and the internet is shared with my brother. The
problem is, we can't easily keep track of who has used what and do not know which applications
are sucking all the download limit up. I was previously using an application called Net Limiter
until I noticed it wasn't accurately recording usage. This is also probably a good time to
mention that I am behind a router, but am only concerned with the usage of my own computer. While
searching around on the net, I stumbled across a program called DU Meter . It seems f....
