I am trying to choose between Adobe Premiere Pro and Sony Vegas 5 + DVD Production Suite. Their
both priced at $699. I want to know who is better....

I wondered what software is there to rip dvd movies onto your computer in divx or XviD format?
theres are lots around and i dont seems to know which one is the best. i want the ones that give the
best quality like the movies that can be downloaded from p2ps. so what software do they use to
distrubute them? thanks!...

I've got an Acer Aspire 5611 laptop, which was a replacement for another that went bad. This one
didn't come with any software or windows installed, I had to get a new copy for it. I've
been able to download all the acer drivers and the acer utilities sets, but I can't find
anywhere to download the Acer Arcade software, which seems to be a requirement for being able to use
the dedicated media buttons on the side of the laptop. Does anyone know where I can find this, or if

I had a problem with my 40GB 4th Generation iPod. It was giving me the sad iPod icon. I tried
restoring it to factory default but it wasn't even detected. So I opened up the iPod and tried
reseating all the cables. I wasn't paying attention and forced the hard drive cable in (I know,
stupid thing to do especially for me). I'm usually more careful, but now the extra "pin" (maybe
a ground) at the end is broken and stuck into the wrong side of the hard drive. I put it in the

Last week was my fathers birthday and we had a dance party at our place. First we decided to burn an
MP3 disc and play it in our player, but due to lack of continuity we decided against it. It was then
that i came across this great software called Traktor DJ Studio by Native Instruments. It looked
pretty good and was loaded with features. A list of the features that i liked. Since i have a 4
channel sound card i was able to plugin my headphones and sample tracks before they were played I
could browse my music collection and select tracks to play I could crossfade bet...

Does any one have experience or solution for this? Here is what I want: I need to develop an
application that would be running on only one computer which is not networked in anyway. It will be
a standalone PC and it would not have internet connection. The application I need to develop would
most probably be written in Java - and it may go for Java swing components. The application would
need a database. I need to install the database on the same computer. What open source or free
database options do I have that would let me develop an application using Java on it?...

I have a couple of 1G drives by other brands and just picked up a new 2G cruzer by Sandisk. But
it comes with all this (stupid) software ... a launcher and stuff. I'm used to plugging it in
and using it. And with the launching software it wants me to WAIT until it launches its own apps.
What's the advantage? It seems quite redundant to have this extra software running. I deleted
the files, but they keep coming back. YIKES! How do I get rid of them!? ...

I am an amateur filmmaker, and I desperately need a video editing program that can reverse video. I
have tried using Fade to Black, which can reverse video, but when I mix down to an .avi, the file is
glitchy and I lose a lot of frames. Does anyone know of any software that can reverse video but

I am currently using the freeware version of CamStudio to create screencast videos, which I then
convert to FLV, and I post the FLV movies on the intranet at work. I am happy with the video quality
of these videos. However with CamStudio I have a small problem with the spacebar. It is the default
command key to stop the screen recording, and I although I looked everywhere, I couldn't find
where I can change this. I sometimes need to write stuff in text fields and text boxes, and it is
