No, downloading and speaking of pirating Microsoft Office is NOT allowed on Astahost forums.

You can't just download this stuff; you have to go and actually buy the Microsoft Office Suite. Check out this link for Word: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/FX100487981033.aspx. You can download a free trial, but after that is over, you'll have to go and buy Word. You can also just get the whole suite here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/FX101674071033.aspx.
Now, on the other hand, if you do want a similar word processing system for free, you can always download OpenOffice here: http://www.openoffice.org/. Programs similar to word and powerpoint are both in there. Good luck.
On the Microsoft website you can get a trial of the newest edition of office, but I'm pretty sure it's only for vista.
Or an alternate solution would be to download open office, which mimics word to near perfection; ope office has the same programs as word does but it is free and also you can open them up on a computer that has word on it. Which means you can go back and forth without any problems whatsoever.
On the Microsoft website you can get a trial of the newest edition of office, but I'm pretty sure it's only for vista. It's available for XP. xboxrulz
I would suggest what saint-michael said! Open Office is a great free alternative to microsoft office! I use it all the time at home and have perfect compatability with others who use microsoft office!
If you want something free, I suggest OpenOffice or even easier alternatives like GoogleDocs/Spreadsheats for basic Word Processing.
If you want real advanced word processing, try LaTeX. Not really suited for general use though, it's populair with scientific papers because of the extra power you get in controlling how equations & symbols are displayed. Myself I definitely prefer working with Office Vista, but I don't think you (the OP) will miss out on features with OpenOffice. Just get something with a spell checker, you need it :\
I was just playing with the Beta when it came out, but the thing is, is that I really disliked the revamped GUI. I liked Office XP better.

OpenOffice is good when it comes to standards uniformity, but it's still quite large if you just want some spreadsheet operations. A windows version of Gnumeric can do well in most circumstances as well. I've been using it together with Abiword (great, small, and simple word processor) for some time, until I needed the more advanced functions of the whole OpenOffice suite.
I guess there are some other open-source alternatives to Powerpoint as well. If you just want to view Powerpoint files there are different versions of Powerpoint Viewer available from Microsoft's website for free. You can find the newest version here, while the older one (much smaller but still handles a lot of newer PowerPoint files) is available here. Latest Entries

You can't just download it and play it, for starters, where is your serial number. You download the trial and purchase a code from Microsoft then enter it in to the Trial. Or, if you afford £199+ / $199+, use OpenOffice and StarOffice and other opensource office programs.

On the Microsoft website you can get a trial of the newest edition of office, but I'm pretty sure it's only for vista. it will work on windows xp. i have tried it and works http://www.astahost.com/style_images/1/fol...icons/icon1.gif
