If you're using Windows, you should be able to find out in the Device Manager. (My Computer - Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager). Or to be sure, simply open your computer and take a look at the Product-ID of the graphics card.
GreetingZ ah yes ... faster way: Right click on My Computer - Properties
And for even more detailed information, you could right a program to get you all of the information from BIOS. If you want, I could whip one up for you quickly.

If you don;t have your display card driver installed, do it this way.
You can see the information about your display when you turn on your computer. The first mesage displayed on the screen is the information about your display card. QUOTE(jedipi @ Aug 12 2005, 12:08 AM) If you don;t have your display card driver installed, do it this way. You can see the information about your display when you turn on your computer. The first mesage displayed on the screen is the information about your display card. That's right, but some monitors are so slow that the graphics adapter information is already through when the monitor starts to display anything. And some computers show a logo instead of the normal booting information, for example IBM and Compaq machines. GreetingZ
Another way to check out ... infact for all your hardware (in windows) is to do the following:
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools> System Information On the System Information screen - Expand the 'components' tree and click on 'display' That should give you all the Display informatio all the best...
OK, the first method hazeshow posted worked fine, I have an Ati Mobility Radeon 9700. I also found out alot more using it, like I have a better processor than I thought.
Radeon 9700 is a rather good graphic card, you will be able to play recent games with it. You should probably get better results with this board if you have a look at the ATI website, in order to take the newest drivers.
Of course, before doing that, don't forget doing a backup of your system disk...
Would a 'Display Adapter' be a graphics card?
I have a Nvidia Vanta/Vanta LT, but im not that sure if its a graphics card or not.
Display Adapter, Video Crad, and Graphics cards are all synonyms. The most popular kinds are the Nvidia GeForce line, the ATI Radeon line and the ATI Rage line.

Your Radeon 9550 is perfectly adequate. It isn't a poor card, just not rather new. You should be able to run it, how much Video Card RAM does it hold? -reply by Ramza
If you are using a windows computer try this.
1. Go to start -> Run. 2. Type 'dxdiag' and click run. 3. Click the display tab Under the display tab you will see information about your graphics card and display settings. You can even run some tests there. Hope this helps!
