I had a problem with my 40GB 4th Generation iPod. It was giving me the sad iPod icon. I tried
restoring it to factory default but it wasn't even detected. So I opened up the iPod and tried
reseating all the cables. I wasn't paying attention and forced the hard drive cable in (I know,
stupid thing to do especially for me). I'm usually more careful, but now the extra "pin" (maybe
a ground) at the end is broken and stuck into the wrong side of the hard drive. I put it in the
correct way now minus that "ground" pin at the end (which is still stuck on the other si...

Great Gravity Game.
- Fun Stuff. (3)
Hey guys check this game out, if you are into Physics or just to plain games this is a great game
for you. Basically you get to move an atom, you start by sending it on a direction, the atom will
move through the planets which will affect it, you pass the level if the red bar empties before the
atom collides with the planet. Its pretty dumb at start but later its challenging. Try it out:

Building A Computer Component By Component

Well, I picked out all the parts for my computer and I'm just looking for some feedback on what
you think. This computer is mainly for gaming, so if you know of something better I could be using,
go ahead and mention that (keeping in mind the price). I BELIEVE everything is compatible, but I am
not 100% sure, so if someone notices something, please let me know. The things I have listed below
are EXACTLY what I am buying, nothing more, and nothing less. If I am missing something, let me
know. A few things I am concerned about: 1.) I didn't notice any USB ports,...

game-related signature. Signatures off-topic can be made using the instructions below, but will be
much harder. First off, we need to find a game that you enjoy. In this example, I'll take Halo
2. We now need to search for the Starting Image , a simple image that people have already made.
However, we want to be careful and choose the correct one. Follow these rules and you should find a
decent one: Good Images: Ones with a colorful background. Ones with the main ch...

Automated Product Suggestion Script

I recently got an idea for a project and one of the features I wanted the project to have was an
automated suggestion service. If anyone has been to Amazon, it would work much like their
recommended product feature. What I want to do is take several users lists of whatever but for this
example, I'll use web links like from the browser history. I would want to suggest links to a
user based on common links in many other users lists. User A: Amazon, Ebay, Excite, Google, Yahoo,
MySpace, Walmart User B: Amazon, Ebay, Google, Yahoo, You Tube, MySpace, CVS User C: Amazo...

Google has entered the social bookmarking market with a new product called Shared Stuff. Shared
Stuff is simple enough; users drag an "email / share" button into their browser, and click it when
they want to add pages to their Shared Stuff profile. Links can include an image, text extract, and
/ or a user comment. The results can then be viewed directly, via iGoogle or RSS.

Illegal Stuff On Youtube

I keep asking myself how they get away with this. If my post sounds like a bit of a rant .... yes
it is. And please comment all you want to about this. Here's the deal: Youtube has terms &
conditions. You can't post material that you don't own the copyright for. And as you post
a new video, TWICE you have to say that you are not posting anything that you don't own the
copyright to. But why is it then ... that people post music videos (let's say Michael Jackson),
and TV commmercials, and so forth where they clearly don't own the copyrights t...

Need Help With Winxp (will Be Upgrading Hardware Soon).
- (7)
I found out the hard way twice before that Windows XP will have a fit if you change too many
critical components due to it's crappy piracy protection methods. The hardware I am upgrading is
the Motherboard, CPU and Video Card which will obviously make WinXP have a fit and refuse to boot
properly. I am wondering if anyone here knows a way around this? I don't much like the idea of
having to wipe the drive clean of everything and start new, re-configure, re-download, re-install,
repeat etc.... EDIT: Oh and incase it is important I am using Windows XP Home with Se...

Which Systems Should I Go For?
- comparing hardware (14)
I'll be setting up an IT lab here with about 30 computers for our school. IT lab may be a bit
misleading, it's more for children and young people who will use the computer for basic tasks
like Office, edutainment, games, and maybe some light graphics work. Think small projects in
photoshop. So i have several options, and i'm trying to strike a balance between economy and at
the same time getting something that won't be totally obsolete in a couple years. Also i would
like it to be upgradeable in the event that in the future, say a 3d graphics program star...
Reliable Hardware Serial Number For Software Protection?
- (10)
I am currently developing a program that I would like to protect from unauthorized users (copy
protection). The software itself is free but I want my users to register before they can use it.
Because the software is free, I can’t really use a third-party solution such as eSellerate because
they take payment as a percentage of sales (which is zero). I have played around with several ideas
but the one that keeps sticking is using the hard drive serial number as a basis for protection.
I’m not a big fan of this idea because I have been the victim of such schemes in the ...

Recent Events At Astahost, The Hosting Server Problem, And The Xisto Corporation

Well, the last couple of days have seen some pretty odd behavior from the server. Files won't
upload, files won't edit, and then of course there have been a few server outages all together.
Well, I have the reason behind the issues. In an effort to better enable himself to offer all of
the services that he provides, OpaQue's company has aquired another hosting companies assets.
That is Computing Host has bought shothost.com which means that he basically took over the hosting
accounts for shothost.com. As a result, all of the shothost customer hosting acc...

Manipulating Excel File With VB?
