Guitar Xplorer Controller Not Working

I recently obtained Guitar Hero III for PC. The game works fine but the guitar controller does not work in the game.

It is recognized in Device Manager and in Game Controllers in Control Panel. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 right now. The controller is calibrated in Control Panel, but when I load the game, it does not respond at all. I have met the minimum system requirements for the game and when the controller is plugged in, Windows automatically installed the drivers for it.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

I reinstalled the software and it seems to work fine now.

But I also notice that the green/red frets aren't registering during a game, instead green/yellow and red/blue go together when either of them are pressed. What is going on?

 ---> that just means u need to recalirbrate the controls in your game controls section under control panel.

 I am haveing the same problem where the controller is not responding and re-instaling the device driver is not working. I am using windows xp and a ps3 wireless guitar.

    I recently bought an ATI Radeon 9250 256mb, my computer comes with an nVIDA nforce chipset (Driver:
    nVIDA Geforce 2 Integrated GPU, VGA compatible). It worked great at first but later i started having
    problems. Logan (Deathbringer) helped me get it working again...sortof. What he told me to do was to
    uninstall the previous nVIDA drivers and use a driver cleaner to erase everything the uninstaller
    did not. It made sense, then i was to put the Radeon card in, start in safe mode and uninstall the
    Radeon drivers and clean off all the ATI drivers using the DC again. I restart....

    Hey everyone. I had a really inexpensive USB video-game controller so that I could play the old GTA
    games, and some modded games (SNES, NES, and Genesis). But, it being less than seven bucks, it
    broke. Understandable but very sad. Now I'm looking for a replacement that would work for basic
    video games. I don't want a flight stick, or any overly elaborate design. I like what I've
    read about this Logitech controller but those were all product descriptoins from the maker. Does

    Hey, if anyone has any information on xbox controller (s-type) schematics could you post here with
    links or info if any exsists? so me and my buddy had this crazy idea for an xbox controller mod.
    Basically we're merging a pair of joysticks with the controller so that you can use the
    joysticks and their buttons instead of a regular controller. the reason for this being the way that
    the buttons and joysticks on the official controller are spaced out and for certain games where you
    need to hit the buttons as you're moving the joysticks this becomes highly ackward,....
