Wow, I'd never say that Google is already eight years old. It seems as if it appeared on the Internet only 2 or 3 years ago! What's more, it looks like no one knows that it is its birthday today. Even Google didn't boast - they just created a new, birthday logo You can see it here. Google has really grown a lot for these eight years. It started off as just another search engine, but it didn't take long for it to become the best search engine. But that's wasn't it. Google continued to develop, and created numerous services, out of which the most important ones, in my opinion, are Blogger (well, they do own it), Google Earth, GMail and AdSense/AdWords. You can take a look at the rest over here. It's not like they only created new products. Google also worked a lot on the search engine(s). Here and here you can see various search "hints" that really can help a lot. There is also that new game, Google Image Labeler, which makes it easier to find images - now who would think of that except Google? Happy birthday, Google!

Wow, its been 8 years since they came into our lived? Boy, to think the years before I been without google, I had to use more than 1 search engine from research papers. Search engines such as yahoo and msn, askjeeves and the such were the usual search engines that I have used for my english papers back in the day. Ever since its development and rise in the world, its been the only search engine I trusted for accurate results. Now today I continue to use google, not only as a search engine but for my E-mails, directions, videos, and image searches. Eight years in and it has evolved to become a very sucessful service for the internet community. Happy birthday google, and lets hope you can offer us more of what you have already given us.

Google starts into business on the year 1998 But the discussions were started in the year 1995 itself! We all love the great products from Google! If you need to see the whole history of Google, then checkout this: www.google.com/corporate/history.html

8 years? Whoa. I still remember when I heard google for the first time. Was still using other search engines back then. I think it was 4 years ago. They sure made some remarkable progress ever since. Use it now for picasaweb, mail, searching, blog ... Especially the mail feature I adore. Damn they made some break into the internet world over the years. Something that small immediately competed with big microsoft that fast. I like competition. Before Gmail, Hotmail inbox was only a mere 2 mb. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAMNIT!

Wow, that's quite impressive, Google. Yeah, I remember using Hotbot all these years. How can I compare that bloated slow interface to the slick and charming interface of my favorite web search engine? Google and Wikipedia are the two best things to happen to the internet lately, not speaking in terms of technology. They both (and sometimes while joining powers) provide me with so much information that is so easy to access! I can't really imagine that Google is older than my cousin! I remember the day she was born... I was still in 2nd grade back then. I can't actually believe that back then Google was already operating and I wasn't using it! What a shame! Anyways Google! Thanks for all the great time, and all the romantic sea-side dinners... I'll always be your friend!

Well, it certainly doesn't seem like eight years...but that's probably due to the fact that even if it did start out in 1998, no one knew it existed until many years later. I remember using Yahooligans (because it was so pitifully recommended by the school) at first. Eventually I switched to Google for a very stupid reason--I liked their design! To think that it's possible to like Google's very bland design. >_> I must've been a freak back then. Now of course...I use it all the time, mostly for search, but also for other stuff. XD It takes far less time to load than either Yahoo or MSN. It has also turned into my Internet-connection checker--if Google's not working, then my Internet must be down. Never mind the fact that there was one domain-name-switching accident with Google. Hahaha. And of course there's Gmail. I can never forget about that--especially its interface, the storage space, the spam filter, and most importantly, the ability to forward all your emails. XD So, in conclusion, happy birthday Google!!

I remember the old days when i didn't even know google existed, i used to use msn search which is pretty crappy now. I can say not much has changed over there at msn. On the other hand google is a different story, if you look at all the products and services they have released it is just amazing. I started to use google when other people suggested it to me, google was pretty small when i started using it but it was everything i needed, clean and easy to read results with fast loading times. Their webmaster services are just amazing, with the sitemaps and the newly introduced website statistics, i have been using all of them on my new sites and it helps alot. Then you have gmail and google talk and everything, which is a whole different story. Happy 8th birthday google -HellFire

I think I always used MSN search before I discovered Google, for quite a long time too and it was awhile before I started using Google primarily, and I basically never use any other search engine besides Google now. Another few good ones could have popped up over the last couple of years for all I would know, it's been Google, Google, Google since not long after I discovered it lol.

My favourite before Google was Altavista. I remember when it was at the peak of its fame, and had a darn bulky front page. I used to have a site back then called RedStarAF and I remember doing SEO with it. I had to work out with 10 different search engines like Lycos, Altavista, Yahoo etc. Seriously speaking it was a world of chaos. Not a single search engine provided 100% satisfaction. Then came Google, to unite the web under it! And hey presto! Altavista seemed like a fat man with a paunch falling ill... lost all its weight within a few months... I remember monitoring Altavista daily and watching it slim down day by day it was funny.

Happy Birthday Pc
born on 12th., Aug., 1981 (21) T oday we celebrate 25th. "silver anniversary" for personal computer, the first ever
one, IBM 5150, it was a miracle at that time, i know if you see it now you will say "you
wouldn't touch it" and you may even think it's any other machine than to be a pc, but this
one exactly was the reason we have these pc's today, it was the idea itself, it was the begin of
the new generation, i just found this pretty article with some beutiful photos about this subject on

GDrive: Google's Next Step !

GDrive, from what i know , GDrive is a sort of a Network Drive where your files would be placed on a

much is Google going to offer ? 2GB sounds "ok" lol, what if 5GB per user is alloted ? Now that gets
me to the same question i asked in the other post about google. Where does all this space come from

Google's World Domination!

think Google is turning into Micor$oft? I mean, both are big companies, seeking to dominate
everything in a monopoly, having everyone using their systems, etc. Now, I have been reading lately
