| | FINALLY! Finally Google released Google Earth for Linux. Now, we don't need to run it over WINE.
Google Earth uses QT and OpenGL as renderers, so you do need those driver and toolkit.

It is currently in beta as part of the 4th version.

Google earth is pretty damn neat. It's a good thing that Google does make Linux versions of their software. I'm usualyl just *****ing here about Google and their slightly questionable policies but this time I gotta give 'em the credit they deserve.

Cool, that Google Earth is now available for Linux, they have done a great job and I think they still will continue to improve it.. the Online version of Google Earth is not so attractive to people who has not a such fast connection.

Google Earth is awesome, I think it's very good that Linux users can play it easily now, too. Though, I wish I had a faster computer so it wouldn't lag so much, or crash, either. Oh well, this is great news.

Google may have its questionable policies but their support for the Linux community is undeniable. The Linux OS will continually become more and more appealing with major corporations like Google supporting them and developing applications that will run without the use of WINE.

Hey I guess both these technologies i.e. QT and OpenGL, cross platform; aint it? So I believe they should have done this in the very beginning itself... Google Earth web version appears to be slower firstly because of total dependancy on Javascripts, and secondly because of caching issues. It's easier for the Google Earth Desktop version to manage and utilize cache. For the web version, it has to rely on the respective browser for caching, which doesn't turn out very smooth due to Javascripts.

Good that Google is supporting Linux, as been said the more famous/big companies support Linux the better, but the main thing that it would be free But is it just me or a lot of whom feel like that? That I used Google Earth quite a lot, but now it is just installed on my system and I don't really open it anymore.. And besides, don't know who's fault it is, but for example my countries capital city map of satellite view is quite old and don't see a lot of buildings which have been built in these 4 years period and I read about this kind of things on other forums exist too. I wish they would update somehow, even though I don't know how the maps or would let to choose the year of the map and how it looked in the past, present. But on other hand, it is quite funny to look at the old city of mine, where the new build buildings don't exist

Searchmash - A New Search Engine
Powered by Google (8) Just when you thought that Google is running out of ideas for their products, something unexpected
was introduced - a new search engine! I am sure everyone is confused - why would Google make such a
move when they already have the most popular search engine in the world (Yahoo! fans, face the
truth)? The answer is actually quite simple - but this is just my opinion - innovation. Even though
it is so widely used, we must admin that Google's search engine is a bit old-fashioned.
Unfortunately, they can't just upgrade it all of a sudden, as I am sure it would annoy....

Google To Revamp The Translation Logic

the essence of the translated text. However, translator engines fair miserably ....
