I think what you just wrote about GMail is a bunch of crap. Having given many other E-Mail Services a shot, I finally found one that fullfills all my needs (ok almost). GMail keeps up with Google's foundation goals -> Speed & Ease of Use. Talking about speed, I am yet to find a match for GMail. Try the basic HTML view if you want faster perfomance. The search option is the easiest way to get to old messages. I guess you didn't realize the fact that its FREE + POP3 Support, No annoying Ads, Strong Spam Filter, Alerts, Chat Conversations Archive. What more can you ask for without paying a penny? Although, I do agree with you on one thing - 2 GB is just too much (unless offcourse if you have Spam subscriptions).

Gmail is obviously the best service around. It's completely FREE and has amazing features. If it loads too slow for you, you either have ADD or a slow connection (which can both be repaired for a bit of money ). There really is no contest for this service. And if your brain has trouble coming up with uses for 2GB, either: 1. don't use it all, like most normal users 2. use it as an extension of your hard drive, especially if you want convenient online storage for files. this makes it easy to get your stuff from any computer with internet. 3. switch to a crappy, no-good free service from the corporate monsters like Microsoft's Hotmail.

I love it, for a lot of reasons. 1. Fast - Quite fast service, everything loads immediately. 2. Simple - Simple design, everything is right there where you need it and not too much other crap blocking the way. 3. Keyboard shortcuts - Always come in handy to work even faster. 4. Drafts - If you compose a new mail it's saved as a draft immediately. If you close the window or have to reboot your computer you can get back to your mail. Auto-saves the draft after new changes or certain time. When you go from your compose mail window to another it'll ask you if you want to discard the mail or save it. 5. Skip inbox, label - I love this feature, really comes in handy when you're subscribed to a number of mailing lists. You can set filters to 'label' certain mails, and choose that they end up in the label folder and skip the inbox. Other mail services usually just apply a label to them and keep your inbox 'messy'. 6. Efficient archive - All your mails, sent, received ... are saved in the archive. 7. Conversations - Another feature I really love. Mails sent/received from a certain subject (say, you reply to a mail from someone else and 3 others reply to that) are saved as a conversation. That means they're stacked together in the inbox, when you click on a received mail from a 'conversation', you see the previous mails above it. Extremely nice, especially when mailing a lot of different people on a subject, all the information is right there when you create a new reply. 8. Size - It started with 1GB (when hotmail was still only offering 2 MB) and caused other providers to dramatically increase the amount of space they offered. While services like hotmail are cutting free features for their "plus!" version, Gmail always adds space. It's now somewhere around 2.7gb they offer I believe. Save it, and it's always there. 9. Great and efficient anti-spam filters, from previous mail providers I had more troubles with spam coming in inbox. Not with gmail. 10. Fast and efficient search system. As I saved all the mails from the previous years, a lot of data is in it. As suits the mail system of a search provider, I find everything I want right away. 11. E-mail forwarding - to send incoming mail to another e-mail address. Handy for using different e-mail addresses so you don't have to check up on them. Also nice if you're not sure to use gmail as you might switch to another mail provider. If you do switch, the mails will follow you. 12. Automatic reply. Off for vacation or changed e-mail ? You can enable an efficient automatic reply system set for certain days. 13. Other cool stuff, such as RSS headlines above your e-mail. Quite nifty, and got me into the "dictionary word of the day" thing. 14. You can use your gmail account with google history search. It saves your search history, in case you need to search things again (which happens VERY OFTEN for me) it shows which links were useful last time. A timesaver. 15. ... A small list of features I love in gmail Time to switch !

Gmail is great! Its speed and ease of use is great and you can do anything you want in it. It acts just like any desktop email software. I must say though running from a Optical Cable connection makes it open fast, but if your on anything slower, it would be a real pain for you! Overall, its great. the space is massive, 2GB is just unthinkable. Even though most of us wouldn't even think about using that much, think about all the photos, music etc that you can send over email and store, its a great idea. I also read somewhere that there is a program that can use your gmail storage space to store files. Dont quote me on this, but if that was actually the way, there is another great, also FREE online storage service.!!

I love Gmail Service more than any other e-mail services. Gmail have enough space and I don't need to delete any message. I also does not think that Gmail is slow, yes a bit slower than the others, but I don't get frustrated logging in or logging out of my account, even on my lousy computer. I now had as much as 1000 mails in my account, and I doesn't need to even delete them. Its a pity that I did not get a good username for my account............... However, I think it can be improved. Its homepage(the one that you saw when you logged in) looks very simple. Maybe they could do something about that.

Well, that's the Google style, you know? Do you also think the Google homepage needs more content on it? I think one of the main reasons Google is more popular than other search engines is the homepage. Yahoo and other sites cram way too many links and pictures for it to be visually comfortable. It's fine the way it is- simple and clean. That's what keeps me coming back. (Actually it's the 2+GB of space )

Hotmail Controls Spam Beter Than Gmail

I'm using GMail since June 2005. I love the sleek interface with no graphics and also the ease
of use. I really went after it because it was then offering the highest space for inbox. I also
have a Hotmail Account, eventhough I use Gmail I love Hotmail. The best part of Hotmail is that its
spam filters are more strong than that of GMail. I receive an average of 50 spam mails each day,
some even skip the spam filter and is displayed in Inbox instead of moviing it to spam folder.
Whereas in Hotmail I seldom get any spam. The inteface is also so good and easy an now t...

A Gmail Sign Up Webpage
- really needed (13)
I think a kinda page is needed where people can post their email addresses so that they recieve a
gmail invitation on that address. The person who posts his email address, basically routes a
request to an already existing member(s). The member sends him an invitation and acknowledges it (so
that not all members end up sending invites). This would, for the time being, act as a sign up page
for Gmail. I know so many newbies on net who have to do way with services like yahoo and hotmail
(when no one actually needs them with gmail around)....
