Hey Dream, I'd advise you to use the SEARCH button before you make such posts again. This topic with the exact same cotent+some more has been posted quite sometime back. See this post: http://www.astahost.com/index.php?showtopic=2199&hl= - If you have anything more to add, you should Search first, and add it to that thread. No use having multiple threads on the same topic. This will only make you loose out on your valuable hosting credits due to repeat posting - a situation which can clearly be avoided by a little careful usage of the Search button. Credits Adjusted (-5 days). TOPIC CLOSED. And come on man, you can do much better.. you're so well off with graphics.. come up with cool stuff for the Designing forum.
~WARNING~ This should only be done with broadband users, I have not tried for dial-up users but it is not suggested
.:GOAL:. To speed up your Firefox browser and allow better load times
.:Difficulty:. None, this tutorial is step by step
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
4. Close Firefox and reload.
DONE! You should notice a faster browser and you should be happy, I myself DID NOT COME UP WITH THIS TUTORIAL, i am only bringing this info here so people can see it, if this info has been posted already (I am pretty sure it did not as I did a search on it with the search button) mod please remove this topic and know I am sorry.

Firefox 2.0+, by default, spell checks only multi-line text areas. To spell check single line text
fields such as search boxes you typically have to right click and click "spell check this field" in
the context menu. The following tweak will make it so that spell check is always on by default for
ALL text fields. 1. Open a new tab and type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.
2. In the filter field type layout.spellcheckDefault 3. Double click on that entry and enter
2 into the pop up box. 4. Click OK. You're done /smile.gif" styl....

Mozilla Corp. updated the preview of Firefox 3.0 to alpha 8, unveiling for the first time to users
several security features it's talked up for months. Among the security provisions debuting in
the new alpha of "Gran Paradiso," the code name for Firefox 3.0, are built-in anti-malware warnings
and protection against rogue extension updates, according to documentation Mozilla posted to its Web
site. The malware blocker will block Web sites thought to contain malicious downloads. The feature,
a companion to the phishing site alert system in the current Firefox 2.0, will....

This posting is best viewed in Firefox. *** IE *** First, let me begin by saying that I'm not
scared of using Internet Explorer. I have done a couple of things to it to turn it into a
well-performing and relatively secure application. 1. I downloaded ToolbarCop at:
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Tool...nload-8846.html Then I went on a cleaning spree,
removing all suspicious-looking browser helper objects, including plug-ins for various things such
as Acrobat Reader. All these toolbars and plug-ins do not belong in my IE, with maybe one notable
exception ....

In previous versions of Firefox there was a feature that I used very often. When a link was clicked
while holding the alt key, it would automatically download the linked file to my hard disk. It
seems that this hasn't worked since installing the the newest release. Is this feature still
available, maybe with a different key command? Maybe one of my extensions is causing a bug. Does it
work for anyone else? If not does anyone know of an extension/about:config edit/hack that could
restore this functionality? I always found it to be very intuitive and helpful. Ct....
I was trying to get a good browser that supported both my programs and my alignment for my website.
I downloaded ALL of the big ones. Opera, IE explorer 7, Firefox, netscape and msn (lol I wasn't
getting lucky). Though I havent gone in debth I have rated them as follows: First: Opera Opera has
some features none of the rest have including mouse actions. It support both IE explorer made pages
and Firefox made ones. Its easy to switch just by going to the options pannel. The theme is easy to
change but the toolbar isn't quite what you would get from firefox. Sec....
I need help on how to literally disconnect Firefox from the Internet. I know I can use Shaw Secure
(firewall) to block it but if I do this, all user profiles will have Firefox blocked from the
Internet. I need to block Firefox from the internet in only 1 user account. Therefore I must change
something in the Documents and Settings folder for Firefox. Is there something in user.js file
that I need to alter? Is it available through about:config? The "network.http..." settings
didn't work properly when I set all of them to 0 max connections and disabled keep-alive. ....

I am sure numerous people have already praised the power Mozilla Firefox, but I’ve only
discovered it today! Before now I thought I would never use anything other IE because I’ve always
used it and love all the feature it provides. But recently after installing and uninstalling of IE
7 Beta, my IE freezes up all the time. So I’ve decided to try out something else. Here is what
convinced me within minutes to switch! It’s super fast – I download the same website at least 5
times faster than IE, and I have a fast cable connection! Features – only more and not less ....
Finally, Firefox 2.0 alpha 1 is coming. It will be released by the end of this week . It has delayed
a month already. In version 2.0 alpha 1, Undo close Tab feature is built in. That meas you do not
need any other extension to get this function. the new feature Spell-As-You-Type is my most wanted
feature althought it is in English only. This is a great function, isn't it? just imagine, it
will spell out the word for you when you typing. the time that spend on posting/email will be saved

The IE 7 development team has announced that the RSS icon in IE 7 will be the same as that

the result will only be better for end-users.....

Go to firefox and type "http://http" (Without Quotes) You will be automatically taken to the
Microsoft website. This left me a bit confused at best. I soon figured the reason. Apparently
Firefox uses Google's "I'm feeling Lucky" option for a word after "http://" Now the first
result is Microsoft's website. Now google for some reason feels that "http" has got something to
do with microsoft. How's that??....
