Another great hardware checker has to be PC Wizard 2006. Its free, nice and quick and it can find anything you need. I can remember the link exactly, but if you search google for it, it will be one of the first few results. Definatly a recommended program!!

You don't need any programs for this, your OS can show you what hardware you have! Nevertheless, programs with that function usually offer benchmarking utilities, which makes them good to use. AIDA32 is very good, but not as good as Everest, which is actually AIDA32's successor. Unfortunatelly, there isn't a free version anymore, only two trial version.

What Will Happen If I Rebooted My Pc 60 Times Consecutively?
Burn your Hardware (20) Have you tried this at home or in your Office? Have you tried rebooting your system at least
60 times over and over again just right after Power on, Self-Test without loading the OS. I have
tried this at home! and guess what a 'development' my PC achieved! I want you to try
it first, and share it to me and to the forum. Let's compare what you've observed. ....
Which Systems Should I Go For?
comparing hardware (14) I'll be setting up an IT lab here with about 30 computers for our school. IT lab may be a bit
misleading, it's more for children and young people who will use the computer for basic tasks
like Office, edutainment, games, and maybe some light graphics work. Think small projects in
photoshop. So i have several options, and i'm trying to strike a balance between economy and at
the same time getting something that won't be totally obsolete in a couple years. Also i would
like it to be upgradeable in the event that in the future, say a 3d graphics program star....

Ipod Hardware And Software Question
(9) I had a problem with my 40GB 4th Generation iPod. It was giving me the sad iPod icon. I tried
restoring it to factory default but it wasn't even detected. So I opened up the iPod and tried
reseating all the cables. I wasn't paying attention and forced the hard drive cable in (I know,
stupid thing to do especially for me). I'm usually more careful, but now the extra "pin" (maybe
a ground) at the end is broken and stuck into the wrong side of the hard drive. I put it in the
correct way now minus that "ground" pin at the end (which is still stuck on the other si....
Hardware Goosebumps
(6) Oops! I did it again. In case you may have been wondering why I was gone for so long
resulting in my hosting credits reach :blink -18 :blink... Well I blew one of the parts of my PCs
core system. Just for the record, this ain't the first time I did it. Previously, I caused a
burnt out processor when I tested my PC with the minimum components -> Motherboard , RAM & the
Processor - The Heatsink . It all happened while I was doing my fortnight PC cleaning (I kinda
like cleaning every bit of my PC regularly), I was almost done, when dad asked me to check o....

Modems: Serial Hardware vs. WinModems
Story of a very happy dial-up user (4) Hello all. I recently bought a serial modem for use with my Linux installation, and thought I would
share the experiance. Now, I know that a lot of people have broadband now and don't really care
about modems, but I thought someone might get something out of this. I'll preface all of this
by telling you that I live only four miles from the largest city in my county (10,000 people). The
AT&T Transcontenental Fiber Backbone runs across the property I live on, and I know this for a fact
as my Father watched them install it, and the aforementioned city is currently ....
PC Needs Medical Attention
My computer is dying? Hardware probs? (11) Some of you might know about the situation about my computer. You know, the guy with the 4-year old
computer who talked about the BIOS upgrades, etc. Well, you will know. Anyway, my computer needs
urgent medical / hardware attention!! You guys all know how it feels when you get a brand
new computer, right? Well, right now, it feels really old. I have never formatted my disk until 3
years ago, I installed Windows XP Professional on my computer. Since then, I have been upgrading my
hardware, like getting better memory sticks, graphic driver cards, a new sound car....
Hardware Monitoring Software
Users' choice and opinions (1) Hi ! I've been having some problems with my PC : It's powered by a P4 - 2.4C GHz
processor with 512 MB DDR RAM on an Intel 865 GBF motherboard. Of late, I've been getting
warnings regarding temperature going into the red zones. That prompted me to open up the cabinet and
perform maintenance and cleaning etc. Intel's Active Monitor which was installed from the
accompanying Driver CD notified me about this. This led me to a search for similar software and
I'd like opinions from users here. The most widely talked about monitoring software that I c....
Hardware Trouble Shooting
A question on how to proceed... (6) Hey, I ran into a computer that a friend of mine had been hanging onto from an office he used to
work at. He couldn't get it to work and another friend of his that tried to get it to work could
not either. (btw, these are a few guys quite a bit older then me). Anyways, long story short, he
dropped it off to me after I did a bit of computer work for him at his house. So now I have a
computer that is most likely completely dead, but that I'd like to eitehr fix up or scrap and
salvage parts. My question is, how should I go about testing out the hardware of the co....
Linksys Hardware Failure?
(4) I share a wireless network with my family. Because i only bought ONE external wireless network
adapter (Compex), only one person gets to use at a time. The compex adapter worked PERFECTLY and
connected to my compex router with excellent speed (erm.. maybe because they're of the same
brand??) A few days back i bought an internal wireless adapter (linksys) and tried to get it
working on my computer so more than 2 people can surf the net at once. Unfortunately, it didn't
work out well for me. I fixed it up and everything went well. I started configuring its setting....
