| | Well... no one has said anything officially, but I saw on the blizzard website a post that said they were looking for a "game coordinator" or something like that to work with the team that made diablo and diablo 2. So, even if it's still not remotly confirmed, I would say it's 90% sure they are starting to make Diablo 3! :-o That means we have at least 1 more year to droll untill it comes out. |

Good to hear. I like to play the second one and its expansion. Battlenet is fun aswell. I have never played the first one though what is that like? I can't wait for the third installment of this popular series to come out.

Thats nice to know. I quit Diablo II a long time ago. If Diablo III comes out, I'll have to get it. Also, let's hope that Bnet is still free; I heard rumors that they are going to be charging people monthly to play on Bnet. If that ever happened, I would never play it again.

Yea I will never pay to play it online like the other MMORPGs thats why I can't wait till Guild Wars comes out. You only pay for the software. It also is different on how skills are aquired. No longer is it based on how much time you spend on your computer. That would make this game a very nice addition to all the other MMORPGs

I was a bit apprehensive about this, cuz this topic began in 2005, and Since WoW has been out, all talk of Diablo has been relegated to its hardest-core fans, such as myself. The storyline, in my opinion, has been truly engaging, and the death levels of Diablo 2 made "fighting though hell" literal. The pointless hack-n-slash is a sore point many have raised over the years since the first Diablo was released. The atmosphere of the game, and the in-game music, dialogue and scenarios have often surpassed other contemporaries, and Diablo has never made a huge fuss about system requirements. This post borders on becoming a higly one-sided review, but for anyone who has played, and loves Diablo...its but natural to get defensive.
the point here, is Diablo 3- why and how will it work? 1. Most of Diablo's followers, having waited long enough and having upgraded their PCs in the meantime, have switched lanes to join WarCraft's hordes. in other words, blizzard can very well sit back and relax, since the target audience has been retained for most part. Diablo - 0, Others - 1
2. This is personal experience, I already have a weird feeling this is individual - Diablo games never bog your PC down too much- a general trend with Blizzard games that achieve graphical detail and sustain gameplay value without getting ur RAM all held up. Considering the expectation levels for Diablo 3's graphics, and the gaming crowd - by now, seasoned to WarCraft's multi-genre feel and resource-intensive, uncompromising graphics, and of many more MMORPGs available, the hypothetical 3rd game in the Diablo franchise will be up against some pretty mean competition, and I doubt if loyalists would like Diablo to be a re-painted clone of anything else - I wouldn't. Diablo - 0, Others - 2
Diablo 3 will have to be a richly detailed world, a better storyline to resurrect Mr. Spanish Devil, new repertoire of playable characters, possibly more NPC interaction, and yet retain the good old hack-n-slash with those fire-ice-lightning-poison elements. Tall order.
3. Lets hope Blizzard is motivated enough. Diablo - forever, Others - whatever

Actually StarCraft doesn't follow a timeline or story mode, you just go killing after killing in my opinion. The best story line from Blizzard Entertainment, is probably War Craft III. It follows a smooth and self-explanatory story mode. I hope WC4 comes out . Now about Diablo Set; I remember spending endless hours on Bnet playing this game going into the cow levels. Hoping that Bnet won't start charging inorder to go online, if they do then if online is good then might as well pay to play. Is there a time set on when D3 is comming out?

QUOTE(Jeigh @ Jul 4 2005, 06:43 PM) If they make a Diablo 3 they would need to change alot for it to be the "best action RPG ever"... I mean I loved D and D2 but come on, be serious now, its a hack and slash blood fest at its core and thats what was fun. The storylines were pretty weak at best, and the gameplay was fairly repetative no matter how much they threw new enemies and magic into the mix. Like I said, I loved the ames, hope they make a D3... its just not going to be some God-send unless they pimp the game out a fair bit
Jeigh, in my opinion, I liked the story lines of D and D2 quite a lot. Apart from the gameplay, storyline is one thing that makes Diablo II and the expansion so playable. I am not sure about the story line of Starcraft though. It is quite hard to keep track of multiple perspectives that go on in the Starcraft timeline.
