Denied Requests

when trying to access another computer's shared files on my home network i recieve an error
message " is not accessable. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact
the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access denied" anyone
know why I am getting this message?...

OK, I will keep this post very short. I deny a lot of hosting requests lately solely because a
lot of the applicants have posts shorter than a text message. It does NOT matter how many posts or
credits you have if your posts are shorter than 3 lines. Yes, a few can be shorter, but I have seen
several here that had posts with 5 words at most. That is immediate denial. If you have problems

I've had an access denied message on various things, like ending services. Other services (Also
anti-virus/non-m$) take a long time to end, or reset themselves to Automatic when I set
Disabled/Manual. Panda and Webroot Spy Sweeper re-add themselves to Services and startup even when
I delete them with HJT. I'd be happy to unistall them if I knew of better AV, which doesn't
need any startup items.....

I was wondering if, as a new moderator, I had to do something when new Free hosting requests arrive.
Who is in charge of approving the free web hosting requests ? The admins ? How can we help ? What I
tried to do is, adding an invisible answer, like "I vote for him/her, she is a very good candidate
for astahost." So, the guy who will approve will see my comment and decide if he trusts me or if he
wants to verify. If you trust me, make my answer visible or simply delete it. However, I would like
to know it this is the way we should do. If not, tell me, I will stop looking...

I see an area in the hosting request section for Denied hosting. Since the Moderators can deny a
members request for hosting if they see fit, should we move it over to the Denied section or leave
it open for review by the Admins? Is the NOTE or NOTICE tags working properly? I tried to use them
a few times and they don't seem to have that "sticky note" effect. It just says Notice from so

I requested SSH access for my account and was awarded successfully at
http://www.astahost.com/ssh-request-t11611.html . Now, whenever I try to login into SFTP through
some SSH client in xterm, it says access denied, contact administrator for support. What should I do

My PHP script, running on astahost.com, calls the PHP function mkdir() to create a new directory.
This works on my home development-server on Microsoft Windows with Apache. This works on my home
test-server on Linux Fedora with Apache. This does NOT work on astahost.com: "Permission denied".
According to the CPanel File Manager, the properties of the parent directory are: permissions 755:

We get requests for editing users posts when they clicked submit instead of preview and still have
something to add to the post or the made a mistake or whatever else they need changed. We removed
users ability to edit their own posts so we are the ones they turn to for help. We have been
using PM's and shouts to tell users how to request post editing so I decided to post a topic
with instructions for the user and we can just refer to the link to the post. How Do I Edit My

Hi NilsC, OpaQue, MC, M^E, ... I threw together a cut and paste form for Free Hosting Requests in
an effort to standardize the way people submit there request post. This should eliminate left out
information and errors as well as remind people to read the rules etc. before applying. I would
prefer to provide the 2 files needed by the form to you free of charge to prevent excesive transfers
