I want to make an editor similar to most Forums Post editors. Where you select the text then click a button and tags appear on the outside of the selected text.

Right now I just want this to work within a textarea. So how would I go about finding the area selected by the cursor?

Hi, Zen,
You first posted your topic in the tutorial section.
Your text is not really a tutorial, it looks more like a question concerning the way of creating websites.
That's why I moved your topic here, where it's place most probably is. wink.gif
