i posted this problem within the operating system forum because...well...it is an operating system/drive problem.... i recently switched casses for my p4 computer i have done this before...and it never causes any problems simply because all i am doing is switching cases...but this time i came accross a problem. after i got all done and logged into windows my cd drives werent comming up. i have 2 cd drives in the computer 1 scsi and 1 ide cd burner....they work fine in the bios...i can boot from either drive and it reads the cds just fine....which means that it isnt the drive, connection, or anything like that. when it gets into windows however windows explorer doesnt pick it up. i went into device manager to see whats up and they are marked with a yellow explamation mark ( ! ). i went to driver details and it said that it cant load drivers or drivers missing....so i uninstalled the drivers and restarted and let windows install...checked and still same problem...cant load drivers or drivers missing. so great, now i have to go and update my drivers ( i have never needed to do that before, windows has my drivers for both drives) problem is that i cant find the drivers ! i guess i am just bad at this sort of thing or sumtin... i have no info on the scsi cd drive simply because it is sticker-less the burner is, however ---------- hp cd-writer 9100+ ---------- but i have the drivers for that  can someone point me in the right direction ? why did this happen...it makes no sense, just all of a sudden my drivers are missing...out of nowhere... thanks

So you didn't install the drivers for either of them at all? You just allowed Windows to do it for you? Windows most likely just gave it generic cd drivers (which only works for those regular cd drives). You most likely will need to install drivers for your cd drive especially when one is a burner and the other is a SCSI drive. So pop in the disc for the HP burner drive and install the drivers. For the SCSI drive, does it have anything on it that can help us determine what type it is? Any markings anywhere on the drive?

Mybe there is some incompatibility with something else. Windows XP still has a lot of hardware incompatibility problems. for those drive you can find drivers here (hxxp://www.totallydrivers.com/drivers/download-driver.asp?driver=85)

Problem Accessing My Cpanel
