Hi, I have had Norton for 5 years now and I like it but I wanted to know if it was the best or not.

OPk, i opened i topic about not being able to uninstall norton... the last post was about the "slow
down" effect of norton.... Can't unistall norton antivirus 2005 I'm oppening this topic
to get to know the antivirus... i'm currently using McAfee 9.0 wichi find excelente... I have
tested panda also, very good one too!!!!! NORTON SLOW DOWN THE PC... AND THE NORTON INTERNET
SECURITY...WELLL....THAT'S EVEN WORSE!!!!!!!! Please comment on the antivirus u have used, and
if they have slow down your pc......

Have you people checked out the NOD32 Antivirus by ESET. It is the best antivirus with a bundle of
awards and so. The best part is that it is very light on system resources while providing the best
protection for the viruses. It prevents the virus infected files in the temporary internet files
folder and deletes them there. It provides support for Email checking etc also. Moreover, it
automatically gets updated. We have been using NOD in our office for over a year and we never got

Guys Avast is the best antivirus i had norton antivirus and i noticed i didnt get any trojens on a
site which has been reported to send you trojens so i downloaded avast installed it and WalllAAAA!!!

Well, when I was using Norton, I would constantly get message that Windows Messenger had been
trying to access stuff (luckily, Norton blocked it). Well, when I switched to AVG after my update
subscription ran out, I realized that regular antivirus wouldn't take care of spyware. So, does
anyone know of free antispyware utilities? ...

I gave a pentium 3 computer to a friend who doesn't know much about computers. Lo and behold
her family comes to live with her and they start playing games, entering into chats and myspace. Of
course, now system doctor from Internet Explorer is telling her she has a dangerous level of

I now own a new laptop and the Retail 60 or 90 day trial of Norton anti-virus came per-installed.
Piece of carp. And I want to install a different Software, probably the One M^E suggested in
another topic, but anyway... Is the removal of Norton's Antivirus and Norton's Internet
Security as simple as it sounds? Simply use the uninstallers and delete the folders from the system
to free up space? Or are there other things which should be done? I'm thinking registry cleaning
and all that. Are these extra steps required? or reccomended?...

I recently upgraded my Norton from 2005 to 2006, didnt have much of a trouble there, but after the
first reboot, my PC went hell slow. I know there had been problems of NAV acting a little weird at
startup and slowing down startup time, but 2005 used to start up faster and better than the previous
version. 2006 takes atleast a minute or so to start up now. I am not the tweaking guy so i settle
with the defaults of NAV and it works fine for me. But is there a new option in 2006 that needs to
be enabled/disabled. Is anyone else going through a slow startup with 2006 ? Re...

So i sent in my computer to Best Buy after it crashed and they said the reason it crashed is because
of spyware. So they installed Norton Antivirus and Spysweeper and make me pay an extra $100. I

a while back i got EZ Antivirus.. the company was giving out free 1 year subscriptions. I used to
have Norton Antivirus, and I thought it was great except for the load up time. Anyway EZ Seems to be
