Just curious to see, what's the most credits anyone has on this forum? Is anyone actually able to go a year without posting?
I'm just interested to see cuz I only have 20 sad.gif

As far as I know, the person with most credits is microscopic^earthling, the administrator. He has about 900 credits, so he can go for almost three years without posting laugh.gif I'm at 65, and I guess most hosted members, that are here for a while, have between 50 and 150 - that's a decent amount.

Alas, I only have ".67" credits!

I run it verrrry close. Partly because I am busy and forget, and partly because my site gets a minuscule amount of hits anyway...

Oh, well... I am replenishing my supply now. Who knows how long that will last?

A hundred credits is more than enough to 'build up'. But I suppose usually people get more credits than 'spend' on hosting, when posting normally, so it shouldn't be a problem to you guys. Imagine that is isn't that hard to post at least 5 small sized posts a week. A backup is only useful in case you suddenly have Internet connection problems, let's say, and cannot post for some time, or have access to another computer to do so.

By the way austiniskoge, what does the hits on your website have to do with your credit amount?

I guess he is trying to say that he doesn't feel the site is so important, since it's rarely visited. But I say that's wrong - if your web site isn't popular, make it popular! Don't give up on hosting just because this project isn't good enough. Why not make a new web site? smile.gif

pyost, yes. I think the amount of visitors to your site does affect the credit performance here at AstaHost.

The credits I have at present at AstaHost is around 50s I think. But there was a time when I would have it hovering around 10 and 20. Those were the days when I had got an account at AstaHost, and was just using it to learn a bit of PHP and MySQL. And yes, I did learn some CSS. I would host them at here and show it to some of my friends and experiment around. Then, I did not actaully have the drive for credits and I would be lurking at the forums, posting only when I felt I just cannot resist from blabbering.

Then, I got hold of a domain, www.WiseTome.com, and started a website at the same account, and my outlook changed. First of all, because I started a live website, the multitudes of problem that I faced increased. I just directed my questions to the talented pool here at the AstaHost forums. My credit count wooped from the 10 to 20. I really got the hang of it, and I started to contribute in the fields that I was a bit competant, and got the credit level to around 50 plus. It has been that way for around three months.

There had been times when it would dip down to the 50 level mark, when I really got busy with my day job, and I could not contribute here at the forums, but I would come back and find a lot many new topic where I can talk. And it goes up again. But I feel I just cannot get it over that because I find myself a bit hesitant on making posts because it may have a shade of spam. What can I say - it is a kind of forum stage fear. tongue.gif

But after a point, if it ever goes above 100 or 200 for me, I do not think then it would really make any difference in my activity here at AstaHost. It is becoming like an addiction for me. I just need to contribute here every now and then trying to add to the knowledge base.

And I think you should have a look at this thread: http://www.astahost.com/get-most-post-t12611.html
Very useful but I just cannot get myself to post like that guy. smile.gif

Heh, well unless you post more often with problems/issues BECAUSE OF having more site visitors, then credit performance is equal across the board. There may be indirect connections but no direct connections.

As far as credits go I hover between 200-210 lately. I've never really had to post to try to raise it just when I became more active on the forums it jumped alot over a short period and now I post enough to keep it leveled off or increasing slowly. Even when I first got hosted though I usually tried to keep around a months worth simply because I'm somewhat flakely on which websites I frequent so who knew when I would randomly forget to visit asta for a couple weeks (although now that I'm MODified I guess I have a more concrete reason to remember not to stay away too long heh).

Ofcourse Jeigh, you would be correct. I did mean that when I said that it effects the activity in astahost. There is indirect connection or as they say statistically - correlation on a lower percentage. ( wink.gif Guess I should be making my posts longer, elaborating thing. tongue.gif)

Nah I assumed that's what you meant, I just didn't want someone new to the baords skimming quickly over the posts and thinking there is a literal connection, as if to say the more hits your site gets the faster your credits go down or vice versa. biggrin.gif
