My question is what do you think is the best way to promote a website in order to get more trafic??? (Without using methods like SPAMING, or Posting to forums-which can be viewed as spamming). |

Good contents usually do the trick... VERY IMPORTANT... GOOD META TAGS!!!!!!! Get help on it.. search for "phpnuke tools" html to php if u get luckie, u'll see a page that has a meta tag builder, there u can create a good descrption so your page will be indexed better in the search engines...

Advertising is just a method of attracting people. The real question is can the content of your website temp people to visit it? If your website is simple all about yourself then it will not generate any traffic at all. People surf the web for information. Not just simple information about the author but of course information that they need for themselves. If your site is all about script tutorials then you will have a great number of visitors. Creating more traffic and if you have a paid ad on it, then your site will be able to generate a dolloar or two for you.

One important thing is the linking. If you have a lot of friends (with high traffic) who wouldn't mind linking your website on their website, so you're gonna have more visitors. Of course I agree that the content is very important. If there is nothing interesting for visitors so the wouldn't visit your website more than once. But if your website has something interesting for them and always UPDATED, so it could be more interesting for people Personally, my website's traffic is coming mostly from my friend's links page, that's why I suggested it at first good luck !

I totally agree. Advertisments and banner exchange and so on might create some traffic. But the more important question is: how can I make my first time visitor come back? Which content is interesting? Is the navigation clear and user-friendly? Do all browsers show the site correctly? I think a good website has got to have something that no other website has. Something uncomparable, which the visitor has never ever seen before and what makes him remember the site. If I only had an idea WHAT ... I won't tell you but keep it to myself  GreetingZ

Peoples surfing habits have changed greatly from what it used to be like 10 years ago. In this news posting you could also benefit from having a group of active people helping you.

if you link to fred langa's site (www.langa.com) with these little buttons that he has created and you email him giving him your site, he'll help you get more traffic. It really works. I went from like getting one visitor a day and now I have like a thousand and something hits. Linking is also great. Make sure you tell all of your friends and tell them to tell there friends. Also it helps to post your website in your signiture on all of the forums and emails you send. I have been pulled into several sites just because someone had them in there sig. Good luck!

Yeah it can be very very hard to get you website out there and keep getting hits but if you advertise on forums and google and like get other people to put a link on there site you will get there good luck

i thing that are many sites (engine sites) that promote your site i thing google is the best but if you have 3-4 hours a day you will see that you can promote alone your web sites...for this are forums that alowed you to put your site on the signitures adn more...but it is more easy to promot a good site with intresting info and images.

i thing first of all you need to have a very good site ...and than to promote your site....but to do this you have to have realy good articles on your website.I only know what I have learned incidentally: 1 Encourage good/popular sites to sign on to your service and link to you. 2. Advertise on sites which your target audience might visit. 3. Join a forum related to your idea, put your URL in your signature, and (this is the important part )make interesting posts about unrelated subjects. People who become interested in you will check your website, and no-one will accuse you of spamming.

This just started occuring when I downloaded the new version of Opera. I think there must be setting
for this but I cant find it. Anyway whenever I go to a web page Opera loads it from memory (not the
internet). Now this speeds up your computer (or it should) but does not provide up-to-date
information. The only way I could find to get around this is to press the refresh button but when
you are using forums like I do pressing the refresh button on every page just to get it updated

crappy. By crappy I mean: The design is broken/incomplete, it may be hard to read. The navigation
is difficult, it is badly organized, it may take you 20-50 clicks to find one specific page. At

a .tk web domain for free. Though there is lots of advertisments on it. An even better domain for
free site is .de.vu This is a german site, though if you understand a little bit of german, you can
get yourself through to getting a free .de.vu domain with no advertisment at alll?!!! Oh
yea this is good. remember you need to become member and give them your email etc. So in the end a
real .com domain for 50 cent or even less is really cheap and more efective. So...
