| | I have always used Google and I probably always will. It has all that I really want in a search engine. Is there anyone out there who dosen't like google? and if so why? I have never met anyone who has a fair problem with it. Or do I just need to get out more? |

Google is fast and precise and all those great things, but shouldn't it make sense to use one of the website which crawl ALL the search engines to find the ultimate results? www.alltheweb.com is one of them and there are lots of others.

I guess it might give you better results but I don't like them because I can't help but view them as cheaters. They just use all the other search engines who put in the hard work finding the websites. I never use them and very much doubt i ever will. Another reason I can't go past google is the ever changing always amusing Google icon. It's such a work of art.

Who else but GOOGLE ?? ................. only if GOOGLE could be a bit more context specific !! I also use Yahoo Directory quite often, sites are few and are updated loosely ; but even then, the sites listed are often among the very best.

Google and Yahoo! work differently. Google is a crawler whereas Yahoo! is a directory with keywords specification and description that do not reliable on Meta Headers or your web pages information inputs. QUOTE Someone had been sued for error in spelling of yahoo.com's company name.
It is Yahoo! not Yahoo.
Please add a ! at the end of the word Yahoo

Well thanks buddy for pointing out the spelling mistake. In future I'll keep that in mind. About Yahoo!'s directory, the only dowwn thing is that they really take some time to put up your site. If they could have made this time smaller........... Yahoo! aslo biases towards older sites ......... that's plain unfair !!

Is it true or not that if you pay for it, in Yahoo! (see, i remembered the exclaimation mark ) and MSN you can get your search results prioritised above others, even if they get more hits and have more websites linking to them etc. Or maybe it's just google propaganda

Up to now google's technology is the best. Meta tags were long ago gone in google. Google uses bots to search through the site. It actually searches for exact keyword phrase in your site.

I think that google is the best because google offers search with only text ads and doesn't take a long time to load. Easy to use, and offers lots of freedom and features.

I think dogpile is the best search engine out there. It searches all of the popular search engines, and it gives you the most popular results from them. It searches google, yahoo, altivista, ask, and some others.

QUOTE Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, the online encyclopaedia, is set to launch an

Mr Wales has begun working on a search engine that exploits the same user-based technology as his
open-access encyclopaedia, which was launched in 2003. The project has been dubbed Wikiasari — a
combination of wiki, the Hawaiian word for quick, and asari, which is Japanese for “rummaging

Believe it, the search industry giants Google, MSN, and Yahoo works together to bring us a new SEO

- do you use Google Toolbar? (13)
Just wondering, do you use Google Toolbar? For me>>> I have IE with only one Toolbar line
(including Google) at the top. I am not sure how I compressed them: drag and drop somehow. I use
ALT-(left arrow) as my Back button, so I don't need Standard Buttons. (As a test, I have just
re-added Standard Buttons, and I still only have one line of toolbars. Go figure.) For me Google
Toolbar has a few uses: 1) Popup blocker (great) 2) Quick way to search, rather than go to
Google's main page 3) Search a Website, rather than whole web (great) 4) Click my search term to...
