a content manager system (CMS) is for a website. it is usually a full friendly interface that lets you control the website - upload images, add news entries, create entire pages and edit the site basically. ... i think. they are very useful to people on the move with large websites to maintain.
you can go here to find out more about content management systems : CMS's
Even though there are more web pages than humans, there are still folks out there that don;t know how to make a site. In my opinion the easiest way to get a site up and to then manage it is Frontpage. Even if you hate Microslop it is easy to use to get started. If you can run a wordprocessor you can make a site.
What comes next is the problem. It uses 100 little files to format a page. BUT you never get to know how it does it, where the references are, in order to make small changes.
I would like to know what the next baby step is to add online decisions. And run a database.

I made my first own content manager just yesterday, and that was the same day I startet learning MySQL! Now im touching up the details. Its so easy that its remarkable that anyone would want to use a script CMS instead, mambo restrains you so much.
Now I have an admin panal listing up all the sites I have and I can go edit each and every one. I am, as this cms you mentioned, creating a cms for a counter strike clan site, and when I get to it members will be able to add pcw results and edit there own profil and such, and I know almost how to do it. I startet learning MySQL yesterday, its that simple.
Sure, it will take me months to make my content managing system as good as mambo, but what I can do is customize it to perfectly fir MY needs and moreover, MY design. Not some shitty theme ( I know you can edit it yourself, but your still very restrained).
If you enjoy making webpages you should learn to use MySQL and PHP together, its not as hard as you might think!
I voted Other since I prefere the ones we make ourself.
OK, so I'm building my site and want to add a blog element. Not having PHP and MySQL under my
belt yet, I figure I'll use Blogger. Here's what I do: I set up the account on Blogger and
create the blog with my site as the location I erase the blog's template code and copy and
paste my site in its place I copy and paste the essential Blogger tags and everything in between
that makes the blog element work Functionality is great. I can post on blogger, and it updates my
site without having to go into the html for every addition. Layout and look is a nig....

Content sites usually profit by educating their visitors. For example, a content site focusing on
dog grooming might provide a basic tutorial to assist their visitors in learning how to groom a dog.
They provide this tutorial completely free; however, the main purpose for this tutorial is to
educate their visitors and promote their products. When you provide your visitors with quality
information that teaches and informs, you are not only gaining their trust in you by sharing your
expertise, but you're also building your credibility, which is very important on the ....

Joomla! is something I've recently discovered that is wonderful for creating/managing a website
if you have access to a SQL database. It really is self explanatory; however, you may have to spend
some time learning the ins and outs of the package to get the full benefits of it. There are many
templates for it and there are a ton of different additional apps available for it that allow
ecommerce capability and many other features to the ones that are included by default. CM....

Does anyone have any experience with MS Windows Virtual PC. I need help with setting up my os for an
optimal sandbox configuration. What I would like to do once Virtual PC is setup, is to experiment by
learning how to work with Content Management Systems on Windows XP and/or Vista. I've
downloaded several different distributions like Drupal, Joomla, Sugar CRM, Zope, Plone, and some
others. But I guess they need other technologies like apache, python, java, mysql, php, and others.

what is good to build for creation)? My site has somewhat a simple and good enough file layout,

Hey guys talking about this topic here, what do you guys think is better? Using file manager or Ftp?
I mean, everytime i use ftp it is so slow! File manager is quite fast but you can't do much with
it if you want to upload lots of files at once. Yet many people seem to use ftp more than file
manager. I even edit my sites using the HTML editor in the file manager of cpanel. What is what?
Which is better to use? Which is more efficient? /blink.gif' border='0'
