| | Does anyone else use the Belkin Wireless 125 High speed mode router, or one of their similar products? I own one and have three other computers set-up on the same network. Do any of you ever find problems with them? The only annoying thing is sometimes I cant get a connection on one of the computers and it gets annoying when you need the computer.

I had Belkin 125 Mbps router. It worked fine until I had to stream high quality videos on the network. The signal was intruppted and the video was intermittent. Then I tried Linksys 54 Mbps. This one worked good without any problem streaming videos. But this Linksys router needs reboot quite often.

QUOTE I cant get a connection What do you mean by "I can't get a connection" ? Do you mean that you cannot login to windows ? Or do you say that you cannot go to the Internet ? Because connecting to the computer is purely local to your PC, except if you decided to be inside a domain. And if you want to be inside a domain, you must create a domain controller. If you have no domain controller, you must tell your computer "I'm not in a domain, i'm a standalone computer".

When I say connect I mean I am using my router for my internet connection. I normally get a very low signal. Although this is not all the time.

Even though i don't own one you might want to try some of these steps: 1. Update firmware and drivers (You also might want to run windows update on the computers) 2. Make sure there isn't any interference around the router/card in the pc 3. See if you can somehow check if the routers running at full signal strength I recommend you do step 1 and 2 and if that doesn't work it could be a faulty pci wireless network card (Is this happening to just one pc or all of them?) -HellFire

It doesnt always happen. It is a problem that occurs every so often. The annoying thing is that it can pick up a wanadoo wireless signal everynow and then. So do you think that is the interferance or do you think that I need to do something with my signal? And if I did how would I be able to do so?

connect to wireless and lan at once, and you can share the internet from the sending laptop. The
only downside is that you have to keep the sending laptop turned on to receive it all the time. what
you can do aswell is printer sharing, hard drive sharing (personally i have an exte....
Cracking Wireless Access Point Password?
Is it possible to crack the system setup password on wireless routers? (22) Is it possible to crack the system setup password for a wireless access point - wirelessly? I
understand how to use tools like aircrack and airsnort to crack the network password used by
clients, but this will only grant you the client password to access the network. If there is a way
to gain access to the system setup password of a wireless router, please explain the process to me,
so that I can take all possible precautions to try to avoid this happening to my new wireless
network... Thanks.....

Routers And Cards
(3) I recently fixed up one of my older computers to make it decent enough to go online. Seeing as its a
few rooms away, and running a cable that length is too much trouble, i decided that i'm going to
purchase a wireless router and a card. I was wondering what router and card would be the best.
I'm trying to find something $60 or less for both.....
Belkin Routers
(2) I've had a Belkin Router for about a year now, and it seems to keep messing up. It seems that I
have to reset it at least once a day, or the internet goes down. I have cable, and I've checked
with the cable company/connected modem directly and it is fine that way. Does anyone else have this
problem? I'm running Windows XP, but I don't believe that would be a problem. Any
suggestions?....
[connection Sharing] Dual Wan Port Routers?
(2) Hi, I've been thinking about getting a dual wan port router for awhile. It is my understanding
that I will beable to plug in 2 cable/dsl connections and beable to use the combined bandwith as
long as I download with multiple connections (i.e. 4 connection newsgroup servers). Is this correct?
What inexpensive 100$ router would you guys recommend for this. Thanks, ....
