| | I'm having trouble deciding I want to build a nice small barebone PC using the Fragbox case by Falcon although I cant get that here so I've decided to go with Shuttel but my main problem is that I'm debating on rather spending all this money to build the ultimate heater  for the same price I could get a DECENT laptop which includes a screen and does not HAVE to have a powersupply untill it runs out of batt so what would you choose Kick ass barebone or OK decent laptop, which includes a monitor and battery life? I'm open to new suggestions |

it all depends on what you want to do. I used to do alot of online gaming ..but it doesnt appeal to me any more. if you are a busy mobile student/worker and you wana surf web ..watch movies play music etc you may just wana buy a laptop. if you are a heavy internet user and do alot of downloading ..p2p sharing you would need a barebone box. but you could always install linux on a screenless mouseless and keyboard less system and remotly login ot it ..to to your tasks ..like add things to download queue if all u wana do is online game then u need a full fledged box..with good screen , mouse kb and graphics card..you may wana skip the acceries like wireless and DVD writer. so what do you want to do ..or plan to do with your PC. i have a pc and a laptop..i dont use my laptop alot ..but thats because i mostly stay in my dorm room.

Don't Power On When Opening Laptop
(6) A while ago I installed openSuse 11.0 on my laptop and I'm actualy very pleased about it, but
there is something I'd like to change but I can't seem to find a solution for it. If
mylaptop is suspended and the lid is closed, it unsuspend when I open the lid. Now, it's nothing
realy bad, but it's something I don't want (because sometimes I just want to put a piece of
paper on the keyboard so I won't forget it). So, what file do I need to alter to prevent this
from happening ?....

Hook Xbox 360 To Laptop.
(4) Hello, I am going to get a laptop very soon (hopefully tomorrow at some point), and where I live at
the moment a tele isn't exactly ideal let alone cheap. Does anyone know what ways I may be able
to hook my xbox 360 (and others) to display on the laptop screen? Aside from features that may come
with it (like s-video input or something like that). I'm using standard AV cables for the 360,
plus it has an s-video cable for s-video input.....
Laptop Auto Starts After Turning It Off
(8) My laptop auto starts after I turn it off. I was told by a friend that an internet signal was the
cause for the laptop to turn itself back on but I already verified that's not the case. Every
time I turn off the computer, I have wait until it starts back and then press and hold on to the
on/off button to turn it off. After I do that it doesn't restarts. Any suggestions?....
Laptop Wont Power With Under Battery Power
(2) hello all.....haven a odd issue with a laptop.......the laptop will not power up unless the ac
adapter is plugged in....the battery is new and once the laptop is runnin xp shows thats the battery
is charged...currently 92%. Now i can unplug the ac adapter and the system will run under battery
power for some time(1 hour +) but if i power the laptop down and try to power it back up it will
power up for 3 or 4 secs then go dead.then i have to use the ac adapter once again. I"m thinkin
maybe the battery cant handle the load while booting....not real sure though...laptop is a....
Andlinux Behaves Strangely On Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop
(0) I installed andLinux on this Dell laptop and as soon as you start any Linux app it gets flooded with
a bunch of equal signs (as you can see in the videoclip below), I have no idea why. Remember, nobody
is keying in one equal sign every second. It's just the weird behavior of this laptop. I have
successfully installed andLinux on other PCs and it works as expected. I first suspected that it
would be a keylogger or some such malware, but I scanned the laptop for viruses, spyware and

Laptop Screen Saver Problem
(2) Hi, When I am using my laptop on battery power (not plugged in) the screen saver loads properly and
works fine at the time specified. The Screen will turn off after 5 minutes of no activity. The
problem occurs when I have the laptop plugged in and/or charging. The screen saver will not appear.
I can make it appear my going to the screen saver properties, but otherwise it won't appear.

(4) I have just installed a dual boot setup with Windows XP Professional SP2 and Ubuntu 7.04 on a DELL
Inspiron 1501. While I did the installation no cable was plugged into the NIC. After plugging a

NIC without any problems, but in Windows XP I can't get the LAN connection to show up in Network

Support: Laptop Wont Turn On
(14) Hi All, I have a Acer Aspire 3003WLC for about a year now. Not a bad, simple laptop, but i have been
having power problems recently. I have had to have the laptop repaired once already because the
sound had stopped working and since I have got it back there has been problems with the power. When
i attempt to turn the laptop on, with just the battery, nothing happens! when i plug in the ac
adapter (with green light on it) the charging light comes on, but i cannot still turn the system on.
after a while (30min -> 1 hr) the system will turn on when i press the power button....

(9) My laptop has been recently rebooting on it's own when I'm using it. It doesn't seem to
matter what I'm doing when this happens. I just formatted and installed Windows XP on this

Im soo into Steampunk and the idea of "old" new technology. OK the laptop cant really be used as a

Frustrating Problem With XP On Laptop
(20) I have my Dualcore AMD Acer laptop, 5102Wlmi, with a 120GB hd, 2 GB ram, etc. I had a friend buy it
in the states and bring it over just 2 months ago. All of a sudden, the other day when i went to

Help, My Laptop Charger Is Not Working Properly
(17) I have a HP Pavilion laptop. I bought it about 2-3 years ago. I try to plug in the charger end to
my laptop and it does not start charging. I can take the back off of it, plug the charger in, and
it works fine. I think that something is pushing back (in the laptop) and causing the connections

Just Got A New Laptop....
a couple questions (13) I bought an Acer Aspire 5601WLMI for $850 after rebates. It has an AMD Turion 64 X2 ML-50 processor,
2 GB DDR2 ram, 120GB hard drive, 15.4 in brightview widescreen, etc. I did alot of online research
before i bought it, as I don't like Acers, and would have gone for a Compaq or Dell had i had
more time. But it seemed to get pretty high reviews, and on notebookreview.com it was in the top 5.

Laptop Overheating
Problem with Dell 600m (15) One of my friends has a Dell 600m which he bought around the same time as me. We pretty much have
the exact same specs, but my processor and video memory is a little better. He has been having
problems since the time he got the laptop with it overheating to the point of it locking down.
