| | Dear Members,
I am pleased to announce that due to tremendous success with ComputingHost.com, We are now pleased to offer our members the new AD-FREE Forums for our Members. Registered members will no longer have to tolerate the annoying ads.
However, We also request our members to promote our Paid Web Hosting Service (www.ComputingHost.com).
Please give us your feedback about our decision.

Well, the ads weren't that bad, especially the ones with the Fart button.. lol But seriously, its a good move, as the page load times have improved significantly. Personally, I wouldn't mind if the ads were back up and running, if that ensures the continued consistency and excellence that Astahost is offering. As for promoting Computing Host is concerned, I'll definitely do my bit. Are there any particular methods of doing that, by the way? I won't mind having a banner for Computing Host on my site. Regards, Max.

As turbo already said, I wouldn't mind having ads if that is necessary for maintaining the current quality of Astahost hosting service. But is sure is much better this way Good work, OpaQue

xboxrulz Have you spent all the Canadian Tire Money yet? I need some stuff from there if you have extra... And the Trap17 Forums are Ad-free as well now... that's great for the dial-up folks. Nice work Opaque. Thanks.

Hey Opaque! Great to hear that ComputingHost is doing good. I recommended it anytime some one asked my recomendation for webhost. I would tell them - "Look, I got a Free Host, and their service is great. At the very least, even their paid service would be as good." (Ofcourse, that would lead me to explain them, when to go for a Free Host option and when to go for Paid Host - that is when they do not have time/energy to spend on the forum). I think I will be shifting to Computing Host soon. I still have about 3 months worth credit stacked up here at AstaHost. So, if all goes according to plans (you never know ), I will be hosting my sites over at Computing Host servers. Anyway, I am glad too that the ads are off. Some ads seemed not to be office friendly, that too lately. I avoided visiting the forums when I was at office and only visited it when I was at home. Now, it is great, clean and sleek - that too, after the forum upgrade. Again, I would not mind if you had to put ads back on the forum. I could live with that.

The only ads that I didn’t like were the ones that expanded to half the screen when you moused over them. I never really paid that much attention to them but I think one of the worst offenders was Circuit City. Besides that one I have learned to mentally block ads and not pay attention to them.

It is nice to know that people will be able to come into my site and not have filth on the top, bottom, sides, pop ups and then some. I try to just surf for downloads here and there and all I see is XXX sites and banners... It is horrible! And thank goodness I don't have that on my family site! I do however, like I posted above, do make my own ads for my site. I do it for enjoyment, and it adds the more professional feel. I try to combine my banners and buttons with what is being displayed, or if it involves a person, I try to match up with their interests. Ad free, and hassle free! THANK YOU ASTAHOST!

I wasn't here to see the forum when it had adds but I am glad it doesn't now. Ads to me are very annoying and pop-ups are the worst. Having no ads makes the board seem cleaner and more userfriendly. Also having ads tends to slow down the site which is always a bad thing. Some times I'll leave a site just for loading slow. The only things that are a positive in my mind to have ads is that the forum/website makes money off of them making what ever it is that website does cheaper for the members. So what I'm trying to say is Astahost is doing a great job at whats its doing. Keep up the great work.

Since I am a new member of this site, I am not sure what the ads would have looked like. Also since I am new, I need as little distractions as possible. I am trying to get used to the idea of a forum. I am "a senior citizen" who has been using computers since the 60's, but everything I was used to was a structured environment. The chat rooms and abstract messenging systems are new to me. I watch my grandchildren work on their computers and cell phones with a sense of amazement, and a desire to see things with their eyes. I even struggle with this reply. I know that I need to respond to these forums in order to get the credits I need to get a site up and running, but I never know what to say or do. Have mercy on an 'old soul'.
