I agree Google is the best search engine HOWEVER I find it to be a little difficult to get the reasults I want..... but that probaby is because people don't use Meta tags correctly...???

No, I think Google it the best out there. There are some specialty search eingines, like visual search eingines and stuff, but for just over-all general serach, Google (I would say) is the best. As far as your bad links go, Google can help you there:
Go to Google.com and click on Preferences Then you can choose your level of filtering as well as some other handy preferences. Did you have filtering on? I think the default is Moderate Filtering or something like that.
Have you tired searching google for search engines?

Brians right theres a filter on the search engine. which can remove all the porn from the search. just go on the perferences and turn on the filter. it should be on by deafult i think. well i always turn it off. 
Well if you are not satisfied, you can always create your own...
Actually it depends on personal preference, one person may like AlterVista and hate Google, and the other might like Google and hate Altervista, and another hates them all.
Google has been my homepage address for a long time. The page loads quick unlike many sites that include search engines. The results are fast and the links are clean and navigation through the results in superb.

Whenever I have tried to search thru other engines they seem to have brain farts. The same search with Google and low and behold...... just what I am looking for. So with that said........ There is none other then Google that will leave as happy or even close. GODD LUCK !

There are also other Search Engines that are like Google, for example, www.alltheweb.com I searched for "Best Search Engine" on Google and got this: www.homerweb.com They say at the top "The Best Search Engine", but I compared it to Google through a couple of searches. HomerWeb found nothing when I seached for "TV Wonder VE", but it found 8,210,000 things when I searched it on Google. no i think that google has the most listed sites out of all the search engines. but yahoo is the second so try http://yahoo.com
I dont think there are any better...
although yahoo is sometimes better... I find them easier to get added on the search b/c it took 4ever to get added through goole... Although google offers adword and Adsense... whice you can make money for nothing! well, Hope this will help you out some... I dont know what other search engins are out there...
