| | I've got an Acer Aspire 5611 laptop, which was a replacement for another that went bad. This one didn't come with any software or windows installed, I had to get a new copy for it. I've been able to download all the acer drivers and the acer utilities sets, but I can't find anywhere to download the Acer Arcade software, which seems to be a requirement for being able to use the dedicated media buttons on the side of the laptop. Does anyone know where I can find this, or if it's even available? Searching for ideas, I've found one thread that said to use the advanced search function on Acer's website, but it doesn't work for me. Only the regular search button works. It's also a little irritating to find that Acer doesn't have any live technical chat support. With my previous compaq model i was able to chat them up anytime when something went wrong. Now I can't, and on the website the closest support center to me is singapore. Not exactly next door.
Any suggestions are appreciated. |

I've always find the Acer website useless. Never be able to find anything I need. From what I gather online, it seems that you can't download Acer Arcade directly from Acer's website. Maybe it's easier to get it from the guy who sell you the notebook, or ask him to burn you a copy.

That's a bummer... I guess I could get the guy to burn me a copy... still, for being such a large corporation, you'd think they'd offer better customer support.

do acer computer come with arcase software now? i got an acer computer in 2004 and it didnt come with it (the year probably explains the reason, lol) i agree with faulty.lee, i find the acer website really bad and useless. it doesnt help with any problems you have, also, once i had a sound problem and i went on the acer site to download a new driver, the one for sound turned out to be a graphics driver :l

I have an acer 5515 laptop with the webcam built it, it originally came with vista home, it didnt come with a restore cd it was on the harddrive when I bought it, my daughter messed it up some how an wiped the harddrive, I have since been able to install vista on it an the drivers for everything except the ones for the webcam or the software for the webcam, if anyone can help me on this I would appreciate it .

I do hope it's okay to ask here as I'm really starting to hate Acer and I REALLY want to get this damn problem fixed. I am by no means a computer literate person, in fact, my dad bought this laptop for me some time ago and I have only just started using it while on exchange. All I know is, the operating system is technically Vista (how I loath it) but my sister's bf fixed it up so it looks somewhat like XP. The laptop is a Vista Aspire 4920.
What I have discovered recently is that the DVD drive does not register at all when I put a disk in (normally something would pop up like a window or options right?) When I go to my computer it simply lists the Acer (C drive) and Data (D drive). The same for device manager under disk drive. I asked my somewhat computer savvy sempai to have a look and he believes there is no driver installed. He tried to search the net to see if he could find a download (suitable for vista?) but couldn't get anything.
I have now asked my sister's bf for help but he is kind of busy and is back home so it's a little doing things from where I am now. He thinks the problem is as listed on this page:

I am left pretty much in the same fix and this time I have no idea what I should do. Thus I would like to beg some help off anyone who might know a solution.

I tried the upgrade, during the install I got an error mesage, a file could not be found, all I could do is pre the ignore button, now I am at Version 2.0.5814 and I cant wach a Blue Ray Dvd it seems to crap out just as the movie is about to start, I can see the previous and the big fedral warnning. I tried to change the vid setting, nothing works. Help! -question by adrian

Which Wiki Software Do You Use?
(9) Does anyone have a Wiki on their site? If they do, which one do you use? I was looking at the two
in Fantastico, and it offered TikiWiki and PHPWiki. The TikiWiki had a whooping footprint of 43 MB.
I do not want to let go of my AstaHost account webspace just for some code most of which I would
