I know XPH don't have any business in a network enviroment but here is real life for you. I'm using "Novell Client 4.90 SP2" on a computer with XPH and when I log in I have one login, the novell login. I setup a second user I still have one login but new user get a windows login with my username already there. If he restarts the computer my name show up and he have to change it again. If I log back into this computer I get 2 logins the first time but only one on successive logins. I looked at my list of registry hacks and can't see where I have to change (or add) a key to remove the username from the windows login. I tried to change the DefaultUserLogin key but that didn't do it. Anyone her know where or what key controls the (default) username that show up in the windows login screen (not the pretty gui screen) or have the registry hack to turn windows logon off and use a "default" user for windows. BTW, the windows logins have my username in the windows login even after I deleted that account to see if that fixed it Thanks Nils

Disable Annoying Information Bar In Ie
"Your current security settings put your computer at risk" (16) Ever since Microsoft released SP2 I got realy annoyed by the fact the every single click has to be
verified because the operating system thinks you are stiill a noob. One of the more annoying
"features" is that windows asks everytime I want to open an executable that I downloaded or I want
to run over the network. Strange enough, this is not a windows-feature but an Internet Explroer
feature, so this is the place where we have to disable this. Now, because Internet Explorer thinks
mallware has changed this setting, it warns you in internet explorer with an message in the....

System Stops Responding
Computer suddenly freezes while on the Internet (10) I am using a Pentium 4 computer (256 MB RAM) with windows 2000 service pack 4 installed in it. While
using Internet through a cable braodband modem, the computer sometimes freezes completely. It no
more responds to any keystroke or any left/ right mouse click. I then have to restart the computer
to be able to use it again. I have noticed it happened once or twice when I entered some text in the
Google search box and pressed the enter key. Has anybody experienced this problem and know how to
resolve this? Has it got anything to do with the virtual memory of the computer? ....
My Computer Icon Etc.
(4) Hello, I am using a modified explorer executable (just renamed is all, I couldn't be bothered
with the reshacks these days). Some time ago, I modified some icons (such as file types), and "My
Computer" in particular. For some reason nowadays, it defaults to that annoying white unknown icon,
and even if I changed it to a different one (and make sure the file isn't removed, I figured
windows would cache them.....), or back to the original, it will not stay. As soon as explorer is
shut down and re-started, or I re-boot the computer, I am again represented with th....
Bypassing A Login Bug In Windows Xp (sp 2)

here's how you work around it. Make a new user, to do that launch from the task manager
nusrmgr.cpl and create a new user. Then press Win+L and login to the new user. The causes for this
bug I do not know, I reinstalled windows a few months back and haven't had this bug since. I
don't imagine its common but for those who it effects it can be rather fruastrating and confu....
How To Login To An Expired Windows Xp System
(18) Disclaimer from the site: QUOTE Disclaimer: I do not applaud piracy, but I do feel people
should have access to their personal files, regardless of whether Windows has expired or not. This
tutorial should not be used to bypass Windows Activation, nor does it restore full Windows
functionality, but I provide it to those who are in desperate need of accessing files that are
suddenly lost to them through the Microsoft Genuine Advantage activation system. I just
came across this interesting tutorial. By now, everyone is familiar with Windows XP's....
Anti Virus Issue
or .... (2) Microsoft officials have been saying for quite some time that Windows Vista will ship with
antispyware software built into the operating system. But for more than a year, Microsoft's top
dogs have been quite clear that Microsoft has no intentions to bundle antivirus software into the
product. Vista Anti virus issue... Despite this seemingly straightforward (at least in our minds)
delineation, company watchers were all in a tizzy this week over Windows head honcho Jim
Allchin's recent proclamation that there would be no antivirus software bundled with Vista.

Eliminating The Login
(4) A while back we were having a problem networking our PC's. (Which turned out to be a
configuration problem on our linksys router). We fought with the configuration for ages on both
PC's (Not sure which one was giving the problem.) In the process of doing this, we added a 2nd
user to my PC which now I can't seem to get rid of. Since adding this 2nd user, I have to login
with a password every time I sit down at the PC. Can someone help me retrace my steps so I can
eliminate this? Thanks, Gin....
Windows Login
(6) At home I'm running a Windows network where clients login via the login box where you select the
domain. For some reason, logging in on my computer takes 1 minute and 14 seconds (I timed it) but my
laptop will take 8 seconds, and the server itself is 3 seconds. Normally, when you first login, the
computer has to create the local profile (I gave up on roaming profiles, seeing if that was causing
the slow down) so there is slight delay, but 1:14 to login is just absurd. Especially since my
computer and the server are basically on the same switch! Any ideas? I thought ....

Xp Driver Issue
Compaq Presario 1800t Update (2) Okay, this seemed like the best place to post this. I'm trying to update my Compaq Presario
1800T notebook to Windows XP, and half of the drivers I need to install say "The data is invalid".
This is the situation for the graphics driver as well as my linksys wireless g adapter. I tried
updating the bios, which windows recognizes as a "System device" with a yellow exclamation mark, but
the update provided by compaw does not match the type of bios the motherboard has (according to the
install utility). Any help here would be appreciated.....
Windows: Themes? Login Screens? Boot?
How do we change them??? (6) I've seen many of my "pro" cousins always change their boot screens and login screen too. Of
course I'm not a "pro" like they are. I know there's a risk to take when you try to change

Any Ideas On Cause Of Issue
BSOD (error writing to C drive) Win98 Se (3) I have no idea why this error occurs or how to solve it, I am not much of a windows techie... This

Windows Xp (a Security Flaw)
Protect your computer in a multi user... (10) You can bypass Windows XP passwords by using a W2k boot disc! M$ tried to make XP the

pop it into the CD rom and boot the computer. Now you can go into the W2k recovery console. If you
use a W2K CD on a W2K computer you need a password to start the recovery console....
