Myspace is very addicting and very trendy. Adults and teens both use it and a lot of businesses now use it. Myyearbook and facebook are very similar to myspace. with myyearbook you get what they call lunchmoney and you can buy your friends on the website gifts and such. You can also particpate in photo challenges. As for Habbo Im shocked that is still around. I was into habbo for a few months but then the joy of it ran out. Perhaps since 2002 its gotten more interesting. As for gaming gamehouse....

what best website topics are good for keeping teens interested? Also, what factors do you know of that influence teen interest?

Well, that depends what group of teens you're targeting. There's the gossip/makeup/celebrity thing. Then there's gaming, RPGs, music, videos, anime, sports... Basically, just about anything, if you get the right audience. I know this isn't a lot of help, but what exactly is this site for? What are you aiming to do with it?

(And to interest teens, you have to have good content and probably some nice graphics/animation to keep their attention, though if your content's just AMAZING, you could do without the fancy graphics.)

Euch, Habbo? I would recommend for gamers tribalwars.net or knightsdivine.com. As well as Uberarcade.com

As a friendly, strictly moderated (no sex/rasicm etc.) forum I recommend cherubforums.com, I can vouch for this site because I help to moderate it.

Honestly, I've never signed up at Habbo Hotel before, but I have seen other people play it. And I suppose it could be fun, if you just started playing it. (What can you do? It's easy to grow addicted to a game.) But, eh, I'd rather not.

I guess, looking at all these games, it might be good to create a world where people can sign up and do something. It could be something like Runescape or World of Warcraft or something like Neopets. But one thing to keep in mind is that if users must sign up for an account to use your site, make sure they have the option to delete their account. I hate sites that have you sign up, then once you're in and you realize you don't want your account anymore, it's too late; there's no delete button. I hate that. >.< Just my two cents.

I'm a teen and I like to keep interested in security bulletins from Microsoft, forums like Astahost, web development sites, school-related stuff, a little bit of RPG gaming and the usual news and stuff.

But for the average teen, designing something like Neopets (with content suitable for teens) or something similar isn't that hard, as long as you keep up to date on what's hot and what's not. wink.gif

If you want some think for you're guest's to do when they get bored or just want to chat to people i suggest you get a chat or some think similar as what i have done i have made my own chat site with a digichat for you's who no how much digichat's cost, yes they are very expensive but they bring great traffic to you're site's and if you have google ad's you can even make money off you're chatters and if you manage to creat a great online comuity people even donate but what i am trying to say is digichats, flash chats any think similar to them bring great traffic to you're site's.

If any one is interested in a digichat i could talk to my digichat hoster he normaly charges $30 a month but you might be able to get it cheaper and if you think $30 a month for a digichat is riduculus visit the digichat inc website and see for you're self.

Well, a website for teens and adults alike is Facebook. A great, secure social network for teens and adults alike.

It's basically a taboo in Toronto to not have a Facebook account, you'll get this eerie feeling that you're an outcast if you don't have a Facebook account.

Well, frankly, there's a lot of stuff that can interest teens. It can range quite a lot.

Facebook is nice--it's like the newer, spiffier version of Myspace. Not that I ever liked Myspace much though... Anyways, most people I know have a Facebook, though I wouldn't quite say it's taboo not to have one. I have one that I never really used--it's mostly for comparison purposes that I kept it there.

There's also this teen bloggers network called Random Shapes, which is quite fun. If you join, you'll meet lots of people who're interested in (oftentimes tech and) other things related to blogging. Of course, there's also the incentive of traffic and the sense of community. It's just amusing to talk to other people like you.

I think I most agree with this. You just have to pick a topic, and a lot of people will be interested in it regardless of whether they're teens or adults. Just pick a topic, and you'll get an audience. Doesn't matter if it's for teens or otherwise, really. I would assume that the topic poster's aim is to create a successful website. Though after I initially read his post, I thought he sounded like a marketing researcher who wanted to find what products attracted teens.

I have a teenage sister, and a daughter who thinks she is a teen just like her aunt.... My sister lives, breathes, and sleeps myspace, myspace, MYSPACE! She just gets way too involved with it all of the time... And my daughter just looks up to my sister... so she is dying for a myspace account.

I think if used correctly, facebook, myspace and many other partysites could be used well, if it was not full of spammers and well, punks online.

I think my sis is fine until she lets like hundreds of new friends in... TOO CRAZY! And my parents kinda look over her shoulder, but big siblings like me and my other siblings try to steer her in the right direction.

So my daughter is preteen and I am happy with her into games for girls, barbie and bratz... I have seen some little videos that still aren't right for her age!

So there is like 4 or 5 years difference between my younger sister and my daughter, but there is such a huge maturity issue! Myspace can be a disaster if not used properly... but could be a good things socially if used for the good!

I think whatever they are into and if it is age appropriate would be possible to access online.

They are safe and the live stream videos are never offensive.

ive never heard of facebook before, ive never heard anyone talk of it, and i dont no anyone with a "facebook"
lol, although yeah with most teens it happens to be myspace, at school whenever you walk around you can guarantee you'll hear myspace a few times. EVERYONE at school has one, lol.

Wow. I can't believe you haven't heard of Facebook before. At school, at work, in the media, in lawsuits, in tech news. Facebook is everywhere, especially with the very extensible Facebook API for developing applications in Facebook.

MySpace, well I've heard of a few people that use it, but I prefer Facebook MUCH over MySpace.
