| | This is one of the hotest topic ever happen in the gaming world... where gamers are most concern abt... which graphics card is better? my opinion is ATI... cuz i heard too much good stuff abt them and when i saw a game requirement that say... GeForce 3 and Above (Excluding GeForce 4 MX)... Which make me gone crazy and seriously wanted to change my graphics card... how can i get a later version of graphic card but i can't work on some games that the it previous version can... i'm currently abit lag out in the chase of graphics cards... i am considering of upgrading to one of the best on the market so tat it last as long as it could... not like that GeForce 4 MX card i'm having nw... so... ATI or Nvdia? considering their best product now on the market and in near future... |

nvidia has better support. ati is easyer to connect with your tv, but nvidia does ok too. john carmac (maker of doom, quake,... the guy is a genious, writes his own videodrivers, crazy) once said: if i'm havint problems with the nvidia drivers, it's probably because i made a mistake somewhere. if it's with an ati card, there's somthing wrong with their drivers. newest nvidia cards are crazy. but ati is cool too. you can't really **** it up, unless you buy a light version or something alike.

NVIDIA's system for the cards is really confusing to me. Hence, Nvidia GeForce 4 7800X or somethin like that. ATi is clean cut, hence ATi Radeon 9600 Pro. And I like ATi, more reliable than Nvidia. My neighbor has a Nvidia, blew out in two weeks after installation.

Well , i will recommend you Nvidia , coz the graphics of Nvidia is such a great & wondefull for games & i like Nvidia , coz its also supporting 3D color based games .....

Lets just put it this way, I personally believe nVida (not Nvida or nvida), is better, then the rest of the compentition, since they create the chipsets, that other compaines pay, and then create Video Cards... ATi is another company (I believe that creates chipsets also...) that is the major competitor towards nVida...  Anyway you put it, nVida and ATi are the best...

Remember: price for power. nVida you pay more for their cards when you can pay less for an ATi card that is of equal power.

yea the choice between the two si a difficult decision as they have similar feaures and capabilities. I have swithced from a nVidia to an ATI radeon 9000 because I find the ATI produces better graphics, more reliable and has better graphics on the tv output (which i uses quite often). It is true ATI is cheaper and the same if not better in Graphic solutions. So why not go for the cheaper and better option?? Altough ATI are cheaper they are not of poor manufactured quality and also have excellent support.

it really depends how much you are willing to spend there are different video card generatios. some generations nvidia has been better and others ati has been better for example, the radeon 9 series was a lot better than the geforce 5 series in a lot of applications, especially direct x 9 application. however in this generation, a lot of the geforce 6 cards are better than the radeon x series cards. spending more can also make a difference as there are different video card levels. for example there are 9200, 9600, 9800 and x800

Ahhhh Voodoo !! I remember those days ! You either had a voodoo graphics card, or you had a crap graphics card ! Voodoo3 was released when i got my first x86 pc. i remember a voodoo advert on the tv showing quake2 (which was amasing graphics at the time !) remember GlideGL ? what the hell was GlideGL ? some voodoo version of OpenGL ? Each line of cards they produce is different. Sometimes ATI is faster, sometimes nVidia is faster, and even then it often changes on a program to program, task to task basis. If you really want to know which is better, go figure out how much money you want to spend. Then, go look up some recent benchmarks and reviews for cards in that price range.
Yeesh. thats what i said... and i think it also got said around page 2, lol. i dont think anyon is actually reading the thread, its gotten too big, which i assume is why so many people are repeating over and over whats alrady been said. but if anyone closes this thread, sooner or later a new ATI vs nvidia will pop up, get merged with this one, and spawn even more repertition.

Help! Pc Not Detecting Video Card

I Need Advice On An AGP Video Card Around 150

ATI Radeon 9250 Issues
I've been working on it for weeks now... (8) I recently bought an ATI Radeon 9250 256mb, my computer comes with an nVIDA nforce chipset (Driver:
nVIDA Geforce 2 Integrated GPU, VGA compatible). It worked great at first but later i started having
problems. Logan (Deathbringer) helped me get it working again...sortof. What he told me to do was to
uninstall the previous nVIDA drivers and use a driver cleaner to erase everything the uninstaller
did not. It made sense, then i was to put the Radeon card in, start in safe mode and uninstall the
Radeon drivers and clean off all the ATI drivers using the DC again. I restart....

Video Driver Error?
Please help! (2) Recently, I've been encountering several problems with my computer. One of those is that when i
play a game, say MapleStory that uses up the whole screen, sometimes it would just hang for a second
or 2 and restart the computer. Each time this happens, i send the error report and (surprisingly)

Problems With Matrox Video Card
gaming (2) i have five video cards at home, all crap, (i just ordered a geforce 2200 with 256mb ram for 70
bucks) but i have more than one computer...so the geforce cant go in all of the computers. one video

(6) i've a problem, sometimes when i reboot my computer it boot normally but when the login must
appear... the screen reamins black, i must reboot my pc 1-2 times before i can login to my computer.

Video Card Cooling
(5) I'm looking at getting a new heatsink+fan for my 9800 pro 256. I've heard that they generate
gobs of heat, because the bulk of memory is on the top of the board. I don't know if this is
true, so that would be my first question. My second question would be, If it does generate a lot of
heat, what is a good heatsink+fan? I've been looking at some of the zalman heatsinks, but I know
there are others that are probally just as good. Any suggestions?....
