| | Hello,
A while ago before I installed Fedora Core 5, I tried installing Red Hat Linux 9 on the following system: -Intel Pentium III 900 MHz CPU -512 RAM -Dual Ethernet (10/100)
However, during installation, the Ethernet cards were never found so I couldn't get online.
Now, I'm installing Red Hat 9 on this (much) older computer, Pentium II and I don't remember the CPU speed, 128 RAM (I think) and this time during install, Red Hat found the Ethernet. This system has an 3Com card that was taken out of my other system.
I was just wondering if Red Hat had any issues with dual Ethernet from different providers. I forget what card is in this machine.

since you're running an old Linux distribution, there are only 2 ways to fix it: 1) Check if the manufacturer has drivers to download. 2) If not, you need to use Fedora Core or RHEL. Hope this helps! xboxrulz

Ah, well, never really use dual Ethernet anyways. When Windows was on this machine, I just used one for web server requests and another for FTP. Until I switched this machine over to Linux. I just never pulled the other card out. All my other distros (except SuSE) were fine with the dual card setup except Red Hat. I was just wondering if there was some sort of compatability issue or something. Thanks! [N]F

Linux - Windows XP dual boot (20) I recently had upgraded my PC to a P4, but had restrained from going for a newer hard disk. I some

OS section? Well, the hard disk space is just the premise. Over that, for past couple of weeks, I
have been using this OS called Knoppix that runs off the CD. I was quite impressed. Most of my

Help: How To Dual Boot Ubuntu And Windows ME
I am running into some troubles (5) I recently recieved a Ubuntu distro (Breezy Badger, 5.10) and installed it on my laptop,
uninstalling Windows in the process as I could not resize the FAT32 partition without erasing all
data and I loved it! After several days without the internet as I couldn't get the modem
working I decided to reinstall Windows ME on my laptop. I resized the Linux partition and created a
FAT32, enough for Windows and any programs, games and documents I would like, ample space really.
The partition was created successfully and the Linux partition resized. However, I inserted the Wi....

Problems With VS-FTPD Under FC4
(12) Hey guys, I just reinstalled my server with FC4. VSFTPD is enabled on it. When I try to connect to
it from my windows system using FileZilla - it connects fine, i.e. VSFTPD accepts the login/pass and
shows the welcome message too. Then comes the problem - when it issues a LIST command and tries to
show me the default directory it gets stuck for a good while and then times out. This is happening
for ANY and EVERY directory. At first I thought it must be something to do with the chmodding - so I
tried all the modes +777, +755 etc.. but no avail. Same result in all cases.....

Kmixer Causing Problems With Fluxbox

I'm just having one small problem with kmix. Everytime I logout and login, kmix resets the
values back to the default values. This happens only with fluxbox. In KDE, it restores the settings
I kept previously. I've tried both checking and unchecking the 'Restore volumes on
login' option in the settings.... but it still resets the volume to somewhere near half. Any
ideas....

good driver support for linux. Anyway, I have Ati's drivers installed, not the ones that came
