Problems With Smartftp

For some reason, I can't login to my SmartFTP account. I get this error, "530 Authentication failed, sorry" whenever I try to. I've had no problem using ftp before. So its not a password or username problem. Are the astahost ftp accounts down or something? Is anyone else having these problems?

Are you sure it's not an username or password problem? Because a 530 error means either your password's wrong, your username's wrong or the password and username doesn't match for the same account.

You can try this page which has a basic explanation of some FTP errors.

I notice you are in the group banned, maybe that is why it is not working? your account has been suspended?

    I used cute FTP to upload my files. But the files in the folders were not uploaded by the software

    I first used Frontpage to upload my site....it never used to be uploaded completely..some folders

    After every unsuccessful attempt i used my file mamager to delete the public_html folder and created
    another folder with the same name. Can anyone help me??....

    hello, I hope it is ok to post this here because the problem is actually with a new account i just
    opened with your computer host company (which is a great deal at $10 bucks), but the support and
    knowledge here is unsurpassed! S0 i have just created an email account in Cpanel , intending to use
    Outlook Express and or thunderbird to collect the mail, but the auto config doesnt work. I am not
    sure of all the smpt settings and stuff to use, actually i dont even know what smpt is, (just that
