| | Recently, my computer stopped playing windows media files that are on web pages. It just shows the oldest version of Windows Media Player and the file never plays. |

I do have the newest version of Windows Media Player downloaded, but it may have to do with the firewall on my computer, anyone have any ideas?

I have a simliar problem...I can no longer play any wma files...Unless I use a oldschool player (media player). This problem is quite annoying because whenever a website tries to play a wma or other windows file my browser crashes

Thanks for the suggestion Thermoid. I went the windows update page to download it again, and to my amazement there was Windows Media Player 10. I downloaded that and everything works now. Even Yahoo music videos! Thanks.

yeah to solve all of your problems just download and install the new windows media player 10. from the microsoft update website. its been out for quite a while now.

Heh, I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling To no avail, I can't play asf (streaming radio) with WMP (It gives me a random - general error LOL - but then again it's M$) So I now only use WinAmp and for a few things RealPlayer. I don't need more stuff on my pc LOL the poor baby is already overloaded... *comforts her pc*

Transferring Large Files Online
Any suggestions/tips? (10) I have a folder of 50 mb worth of pics that I need to transfer to my friend for a photo project.
Now, I was trying to zip it but no matter what zip program I used, it barely decreased the size. Are
pictures just not zippable? Also, are there any free image-hosting sites that allow larger file
sizes? I normally use imageshack.us, but that limits file sizes (like most free hosting sites). I
even looked into free websites, but most of them limit files sizes to be uploaded. The only other
option we're trying now is transfer via AIM, but that's hard because it'....
