Hi all, I am having quite some troubling issues with my wireless setup (to be setup *more like it*). Current hardware: 1. NETGEAR ProSafe 802.11g Wireless Access Point WG102 2. Telkom Wireless Router / Switch 3. Nintendo Wii (Wireless) 4. IBM Thinkpad T42 (Wireless) 5. Desktop PC With NIC The current setup *See attached picture* "Setup" So I have a 3G card working through PCMCIA on my T42 Thinkpad, which I use for internet connectivity. I want to share my internet connection throughout my house.. to my desktop PC + Nintendo Wii... I have tried setting it up myself, but i'm no expert whatsoever... Questions came up like, which device will be setup as DHCP... originally, my Telkom Router/Switch was handing out IP addresses.. But then I couldn't share my 3G internet anymore because of the IP address change (when i share it, my laptop becomes 192.168.0.1)..... Could anyone help me please, I've been struggling for Months with this :-(

There is an alternate way doing that, by software means. First of all, verify that each of your devices are connected to the accesspoint, and that they can ping each other. (the thinkpad can ping the desktop for instance). Then, install a private proxy (like privoxy) on the thinkpad. Remember the privoxy port, probably 80 or 8080. While the thinkpad is connected to the internet, on the desktop configure the IE6 settings to use a proxy, whose IP address is your thinkpad address and the port being 80 or 8080 like privoxy settings. And that's all, everything works.

I have a Wii and it is connected to the internet but I didn't do anything to the router get it to be that way. I have a router two rooms away and the wii picks that up (all I had to do was set up the wii's wireless system). I didn't do anything special to the router. Before I had the wii I had the router for my laptop and did change anything since. Is the Wii not picking up the signal? Is the router even putting a signal out? Did you set up the Wii's wireless settings?

His router is not connect to the internet, only the 3G+ adapter in his thinkpad is connected to the Internet. So, his problem is simply : how the other computers in his house share his thinkpad's 3G internet connection ? My solution is connecting his thinkpad with a cable to his home network. Then, all his home network computers will be able to share his thinkpad connection. And the simplest way is installing a private proxy, a free one (privoxy) or a commerical one (wingate is the best for that).

It's best to disable the 3G network since I think it's interfering with the wireless signal since if I'm not mistaken, I they share the same frequency.

Wireless Routers
G G+ N (4) So in my house at the moment, my modem is running into a Belkin G+ router. We have a 2 story house
and I sleep upstairs. My sister is also upstairs and her laptop picks up the internet... Just.
I'm getting a new computer soon in my room and I want Wireless-N. I know wireless-N has more
range/speed than G, but does this depend on the router? For example, will I be able to have
faster/more stable internet than my sister because of the wireless-N card, or will I have to upgrade
the router to an N series as well?....

They are using AOL DSL and had their ISP's modem. They have a Linksys router (forgot what

problem. The modem connects to the computer using USB ONLY. It has an ethernet adapter in the back

hour, I came to some "conclusion" that the other machines need the modem to be connected via ....
Wireless: Bypassing Mac Filtering
Tutorial (12) Sometimes you scan the neighborhood for the wireless connections, you see open connections but can
not connect to them. Well this is possible because they use MAC filtering to secure up their
network. I will try to explain how to bypass this protection NOTE: This is for EDUCATION purpose
only to show you it is possible to bypass this security. I am not responsible for unauthorized use
of these information. Requirements : 1- You need some tool for sniffing the traffic. I suggest
using Aircrack-ng (http://www.aircrack-ng.org/) 2- You need some tool to change your MAC ad....

established in all my programs, there is my usual programs running. When I test the connection on

30kb/s. Could it be a problem with the ISP?....

Unable To Connect My Comp. To A Wireless Network

then set up a home or small office network using another wizard. I did it again with my new desktop

Server Slow On LAN, Fast On The Internet

w/ the Apache2 Manual installed and accessible from the web, everything seems fine. So I access it
via my home network on which the server is located and the manual loads like I'm on a 56K
connection. To give you an idea of the speed, it's just a tweak faster than using MySpace during
peak hours. MySpace is still slower than my server though. But today at school, I try it and the
thing loads like it was on an OC-93 fiber line at a data center! AND- if I try to FTP....
Living Room PC Getting Low To No Wireless Signal
(14) For some reason my new custom built PC get low to no wireless internet signal in the living room.
My sister says that she gets a lot of disconnects (last time I asked, about 10 disconnects
throughout the day). It loses the wireless and after a while (no time table) it will connect back.
The router is in the bedroom less than 30 feet away but there's like a wall or two in between.
It shouldn't have caused this much problem though because I tried it on my OLD Windows 98 PC and
it doesn't seem to have this problem. It always has an average wireless connecti....

Setting Up Wireless Internet For Mac Os
(7) Hi, I just got my iMac today and want to set it up to have wireless internet using my DSL Router. I
got a USB Wireless Adapter (for the Mac OS) and installed the drivers for it. Then I restarted and
plugged in the USB adapter. The manual said a flashing icon should be on the upper left, but I
didn't see this. So I went into the Preferences (I think) and found the 802.11b adapter there.
I clicked on it and on the left, chose Create... I left it at Access Point (hope that's
correct) and set it to 26 digits for the password. Currently I'm using 128 bit en....
