I think it depend on skill of designers that they like to use PhotoShop or Paintshop.Photoshop is a useful program, proper to apply for picture such as retoughing, croping, resizing but paintshop stress on CG or computer graphics. It has many many tools for painting more than Photoshop. So which one best for web-graphics it's not clear to agree that what the best for web-graphics? but i think Photoshop maybe better than paintshop for web-graphics because photoshop is also more variedness tools.... read more.
I would like to know that which one is better for designing a Web between Paintshop Pro and Photoshop.
I feel that Photoshop is realize with a picture, not mostly for web.

either program is fine it all depends on what you can do with it, i choose photoshop since it the first real graphics program that i have used so i will be sticking with it for quite sometime.
PaintShop is just simple enough for beginner. But if you want to reach Art-of-design, Photoshop is the choice. For a web, photoshop is better. Don't you see that all professional web-templates include a photoshop file for editing. Why? Because the designer used photoshop to make the design.
recently i had to provide some artwork for a magazine that i was contributing to. i currently have psp7 !?!
the .psp file format isnt even recognised by photoshop cs2 - it thinks it is a prefrences file. when i saved as a .eps the file didnt work on photoshop. so i had to use a .tif for what needed to be vector graphics.
just to say that if you ever want to be serious about this area you need photoshop.
I totally 100% agree with R1chard.f5. Paintshop is really for beginners to get used to working with graphics for the first time. But with Photoshop you have to be careful not to overdo it because it has so many features that can be used all at once.
Microsoft's PaintShopPro is ideal for beginners. I mean, after all, it's incredibally easy to function. But what you get out of it really doesn't fit the designing needs of today's websites.
On the other hand, Adobe PhotoShop is common among, well, almost every professional website. It's just really hard to understand, and the tutorials on the Internet aren't really good. So it's harder, but the best things are.
Well i kinda started with the all-rounded Macromedia Fireworks. You can basically do everything you can in Photoshop but with imageready together in that one program. Its great for beginners but as you move up along, you'd like more opportunities and tools and more complex graphics so you'll most likely choose photoshop as its like a Graphic Designer's best friend.
Defiantly Adobe Photoshop, more options and has more resources out there for you. The many people that use Photoshop can't be wrong, it's the most prefered program.

Well to be very clear about the comparisons between the two programs, Adobe Photoshop is the most powerful and offers more effects and tools, however Paintshop Pro is great for beginners, but ive not used it that much at all. Photoshop in my opinion would be the best for anyone wanting to create graphic projects or web layouts, its easy to learn and the outcomes are fantastic. Photoshop im sure overall is the best for designers and offers more resources in communitys such as deviantart.com
I tried paintshop but it wasn't easy to cut out pieces of images from the original picture. I haven't tried the latest PSP but I prefer to use Photoshop 9 because i think it's the best out there.

either program is fine, but i'd say photoshop definitely rocks all. you can like do the most with it and it's really compatible and it's REALLY good. but if you're going for freeware cause photoshop's like 100$, i'd go forrr GIMP...it has like all the same things as photoshop (excluding a couple), and considering it's freeware, i think you're getting a pretty good deal.
Hey everyone! I'm just calling out to any graphic making hobbyist who wants to help with making
graphics for my game. You will be making modern war/ruined landscape sprites and you will have to
make about 8-10 of them depending on some circumstances. You will not be payed for your work however
you will be mentioned in the credits of my game. Your help would be GREATLY appreciated, since this
project relies on good sprites. An good example of something similar to what you would be making is
Here. Only it would be more ruined and war like. If you are at all interest....

Hi guys, Recently a whole bunch of requests have poured in, to design a new IPB Skin specifically
customized for our board. There seems to be no derth of good graphics designers on our board - so
why don't you go ahead and boast your skills in this regard? Here I am providing you (see

the standard IPB Buttons, Headers, Logos etc. in a proper editable layered format. Enough to get you
started on a new design set and to give you ample idea about the required dimension....

I know I'm a bit slow about this, apparently it was released on April 5th, but does anyone have
any opinions on just specifically Photoshop CS2? I currently own Photoshop CS (bought it at
educational pricing), and to buy CS2 as an upgrade will still be around S$299, which is quite a bit
for me... Looking at all the new features didn't get me all excited, except maybe the
WYSIWYG font preview (which is super overdue, I think), and the new and improved file browser called
Bridge, and MAYBE the whole Vanishing Point thing (which I don't forsee myself using....
