| | I'm using Airtel Mobile Gprs internet on my PC,now everything is working fine and i could browse any website and upload files to FTP server. But unforunately my mobile service provider has put my PC in a private network space (10.) due to this some programs like camstreams not able to reach the window media encoder in order to pull the stream from my PC port 8080. This can be solved Unless I can obtain a routable IP address, other than IP addresses starting from 10 or 192. Here is the IP address i get on my PC start>Run>cmd>ipconfig
Ethernet adapter local area connection4: PPP adapter Airtel: connection - specific DNS suffix : IP Address .............. 10.154.22.136 Subnet mask.............255.255.255.255 Default Gateway........ 10.154.22.136
So,Is there any way to get a routable IP address address other than 10 or 192. Your help is highly appreciated.
Thanks, SUNNY. |

You can't just give yourself a routable IP from a global IP space. If you could, there would be mass confusion between devices because you could easily "make up" an IP and end up causing a conflict. So that's why private networks are private and separate from public.

Computers Fighting For IP Address
- (10)
Just got a internet problem the other day. Originally I have only two computers accessing the
wireless router/modem (Westell Versalink 327W). No problems at all. I had to install the Verizon
software which I thought was necessary. Well, we have an extra laptop now and I just thought to
myself, maybe I can give this new laptop wireless internet without installing all the useless
Verizon software. I got it working (set up the SSID, WEP, etc...). Great... Until ALL 3 machines
started to go online... I see a warning message on my laptop saying that there is more than...

An Internet or Web address (sometimes called a URL, or Uniform Resource Locator) typically is
