Hello, I just started a new job Monday and it's pretty long hours and travel time, so basically haven't been on much, anyway for some reason I have neg 9.79 or something (Iv'e never gone to 0 before so this is new to me), does this mean I need to get 10 points basically just to bring it to 0, despite my site being suspended at this stage anyway?

As I know you need to bring your credits back to 0 and then I think you need to make at least 4 credits and wait for about an hour, if you had subdomains, you could have some problems with some of them working, the others still won't work, just login to your ftp or file manager and delete the .htaccess files in different directories or if you were using, just remove the added lines which redirects you to the suspended page thing..
Astahost could have something like, I am going away for 1 month and if he has no credits to upkeep for one month, he could disable his site/account and make it suspended and the credits wouldn't get negative to much, due to after a month you could have -20 credits
Sometimes, it is quite hard to up keep the credits..
Yes, I several times had my site down due to negative credits, but my site came up automatically as soon as my credits came back to positive values. This the politics of this site : you have to post in order to keep your site alive. Another alternative is switching to paid hosting, but you will have to get a job in order to have money to pay for your site. If you often have to go away for several tens of days, maybe you could consider switching to our partner site qupis.com, which is slightly less nicely ads-free but does not have this posting constraint. Man I too understand that sometimes it is hard to find the time to post. I have had mine around 20 or so now mine starts to go like under 15 a lot. I am just now getting back into doing more for my webpage, and then I have to try to find a good post to really get into commenting on. I am sure that once summer comes around, I may not even have a site anymore! I love using Astahost, but I just can't keep up with it every second like when I first arrived.
I just hope that I can get involved in more topics when I am on, and try to get some good quality replies... I really don't want to lose a lot of days and then end up negative, too.... I just don't know if I would want to try to keep up if I were to slip too far down...
But good luck Chesso getting your site back up, and congrats on the new job!
My site once went down due to having below 4 credits, but it's simply a matter of posting till you get above 4 credits, then waiting an hour or two for the system to bring back your website.
Iv'e been around probably a couple of years now so I understand most of it, but this is the first time where I haven't been able to really post, especially when the people I live with only have 400mb monthly, i'm lucky to be able to check emails and bank lol.
But from my understanding you lose credits as the site is "Active", well once it reaches 0 it isn't active anymore is it...... so why is it still hitting into negative lol...... and then need to gain more credits to be positive despite it technically still not being active.
That will suck hard if they don't switch plans or I don't get my own place anytime soon lol.

Well, it's to keep track of the number of days you were inactive and have to make up. It's sort of like, let's say you had 20 credits one day, and 10 days later, it was down to 10 credits. At that point, you'd have to post 10 credits worth of words in order to get it back to twenty. Using that same logic, if 5 credits of posts dropped down to zero and stopped dropping from that point on, you'd only have to make up five credits, which wouldn't be as fair.
Man, I have quite a bit of problems posting (in fact, as of current posting, I'm in the negatives. I'll get it back up tonight), mainly due to school. I probably wouldn't be able to get a job until next year...but next year I'd also have more time to keep up with the posting. Oh what a quandary.
I have almost no time lol, just got home from work then and have to get stuff sorted for work tomorrow and then pretty much head off to bed ready for work >_>.
Does AstaHost itself have paid hosting or anything like that (I can't remember exactly), in a fashion where I could have my current account re-activated without any major changes or anything, and what kind of payment options are available? (I'm Australia and don't have a Credit card unless a Visa Debit card issue for works salary sacrifice benefit counts).
So yeah if anyone can clear up the generality of paid hosting if it's available would be awesome, don't have too much time to run around looking till the long weekend (4 days of no work YES!!!!!!! ).

Astahost has it's own paid hosting, of course. With the free hosting you see the kind of services available here, and you see what you get when you switch to paid hosting. Have a look at our paid hosting plans here : http://www.computinghost.com/ Yordan
I want to know if the credits system have problems because i think that i lost some credits in the
last two days, maybe i do something wrong and because of that it happens. Best regards,....
Hey, I bought a year's worth of credits last year, and I'm starting to run down again (since
I don't post here that often, and hosting is that good I want to help keep it up by paying for
it.) Do you know how I can do that again so I can keep my hosting? I don't know if I need to go
through some other site or what. I paid someone through paypal, is all I can remember. Any help on
keeping my hosting would be greatly appreciated, thanks /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle"

I was traveling on the road today when I had one of those ohh crap moments. Last night I had every
intention of posting on Astahost because I was down to something like .7 credits and I knew I was
going to get my hosting suspended if I didn’t post (not like it hasn’t happened in the past). Like
I said, I had every intention but I forgot and I remembered today when I was well over 5 hours away
from home and gone for the weekend. While I was thinking in the car I also had the idea of paying
for emergency credits. In situations like mine it would be wonderful to be able....
Hi admins. I am trying to stay calm, but I am sort of freaking out now. I go to my site hosted at
AstaHost: http://www.WiseTome.com (without the parked domain: http://kmaheshbhat.astahost.com )
and it states: "This Account Has Been Suspended Please contact the billing/support department as
soon as possible. " I do not see why this should be the case because I have 120 hosting credits.
Could someone please look into this?....
Why do I have negative credits when i have already terminated my hosting account? I terminated it a
few days ago because I wanted to be still semi-active at the forums, but not hosting at astahost.
After a few days, the forums still showed at I was hosted. I tried terminating again but it failed.....
I'm having a problem. At my last login ... there was about 10 days worth of credits. (Which I
believe was last week some time.) Today I visited and I was at -4 days worth of credits. My
account was suspended. As of now, it was back up to +4 days worth of credits but it is still
suspended. Gin ....
Can I transfer credits from an Astahost forum account to or from a Trap17 forum account? I host a
website for my band here on Astahost, and another band member of mine wanted to support me with the
forum activity thing (I can't always be active), but he's more interested in the discussions
going on at Trap17. I know the Transfer Credits page, but it only asks for a username to transfer
to, and I noticed that my AH username isn't registered on Trap, so that means that the credit
transfer host relies on there only being one instance of a username, and if I we....
i was just wondering if there was a problem with the credit, maybe just for me. i went away and got
behind and i have been struggling to catch up. but recently i seem to get my credits up to around 1
and then i come back the next day and im down to about -4. this keeps happening. then yesterday i
got no credits at all for a post. just wondering what might be happening. thanks....
Hello. Recently, I moved to another city, and in the process, my site got suspended...Well, I did
read that after you have 7 hosting credits, your site is automatically unsuspended...Well, I'm
still suspended....Can something be done about this? Ugh, an edit button would keep me from having
to do this, but yes, I posted and got my credits back up past 7.....
I want to transfer my hosting credits to a hosted member of astahost but I couldn't. As far as I
know, Astahost allow that. But In fact, I've always received a error message whenever trying to
do so. Here's what I got (At the time of this transfer, I have 9 credits) CODE Credits to
transfer : 4 Credits With 3% Tax : 4.12 You must have more than to transfer ....
Uhm, is this just a bug? I sure hope so because I'm pretty sure I wasnt inactive for 4000 days!
/ohmy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='ohmy.gif' /> Err, also, is there a place
to report bugs? I didnt notice one.....
I've heard that user can purchase the hosting credits to make their site remain without posting.
Please give me more detail, please (include the prize).....
First let me say that I am upset at the moment, so if this comes across that way, do not take it
personally. This may be a simple mistake somewhere, but I am very confused and frustrated. I found
this site, built up about 20 credits, and applied for a basic site (cost, 10 credits). Over the
couple days it took the site to be approved, I continued posting and got up to somewhere over 30.
The account was approved, I spent the weekend at a local festival (what I do for a living) which
tied me up for 48 hours. I get back, and my new site, which I have printed on the busines....
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if it's normal to be overcharged by astahost when you first get
hosted, I applied (and got) for the basic plan while having 44 hosting point/credits. As soon as I
got the plan activated my account went down to 2.99. IS THIS NORMAL??? /blink.gif"

Today my hosting credits dropped from over 30 to 13 for no apparent reason and I have no domain. My
domain rodneylay.astahost.com does not exist and I cannot log in by FTP. What is going on. I was
considering a paid account, and now this is happening and I am wondering if I am wasting my time
here. I need an answer fast if I am going to stay here. I don't have time for a lousy,
inconsistent hosting account. Rodney Lay....
So here's the deal, I had the basic starter kit thing. Haven't used it in a while or been
active in these forums for a long time. As such, I have accumulated -204.81 (Negative). There was
no hosting credit system in place when I joined, so I'm unsure of how this works, do I have to
make 207.81 posts before my account is unlocked? Thanks.....
The front page hosting page says that to keep 10 days at least in case of inactivity or your
computer breaks down and you can't post so that your website doesn't go down. It doesnt'
say anything about when your credits run out what happens... What happens? Do you lose everything
and you have to start over again? or when you just post your site is up again with nothing lost? Can
someone please tell me.......
hey guys, real basic quesstion here. i know hosting credits determine how long you can stay
inactive and all, i know how they work ... but is it actually what it says it is? i.e. if it says 7,
can i not post for 7 days without any consequences, or does it move faster? zack....
I just signed up for a free hosted account a week or so ago and left for some much needed vacation
time. I just got back today and came on here to check the posts and what-not and to get my site
started when I see this at the top: QUOTE HOSTING CREDITS : (-)7.42 (Negative) Your Hosting
Credits have Expired. You will need atleast 4 credits to UN-SUSPENDED your hosting Account. Account
is UN-suspended only when a user has more than 3 hosting credits. You get credits by making forum
posts. After you make the required posts, your hosting account will be active automat....
I know that to upgrade, I need 30 hosting credits, but since they list the hosting credits in days,
how do i know when I get enough to upgrade my account? I'm not to the point where i need to yet
(sites not up) but I'd like to know for when I need to. Ray J Gentry IV Nevermind. i'm a
