Still making up my mind about the changes... Have spotted a few minor issues...

It's hard to find my way around the navigation. If I go into my messages (outbox, inbox etc) how do I get back into the forum? The (select forum) "go" button at the bottom links me to a 404. (actually, it does this if "forum home" is selected... but then, this is the default)
I wanna see how bankrupt I am. Where are the mypoints / mycents etc?
Dammit - I made my sig for the previous colours... can we please restore the default scheme? (The new one hurts eyes)

to see how much myCENTS you have, just look at topic and at your post of some kind of and in bottom of the avatar you can look at your Earnings when you click on "[Show member info]"

I never looked anywhere else though

I'm getting used to this new theme, quite nice, maybe different minor problems can be fixed and it will be even better

Remade my sig for this colour (other one was probably a tad biggish anyway), uploaded replacement avatar for last one which had disappeared.

...your own Avatar has soft transparency because it's a PNG... am I right in thinking it won't show in some browsers?

Thanks a lot, I did not thess the "member Info" trick

And, aargh, my sig is horrible with this blue border (and please don't tell me it's also horrible with other borders).

Yeah, I've changed my signature too, because the white one wasn't so superb anymore, heh!

Lancer, yeah it's a PNG file with transparency and it works on all browsers I know except for IE6, but some sites other transparency hacks for IE, but if it's on a forum, usually with IE it has an ugly black background.. Even though it depends what kind of transparency you're using, it only doesn't support alpha stuff, but there is more simpler transparency which works on IE6.. I never could find it on Windows, how to do it, but I did that with Deluxe paint on my old Amiga 1200, I could make one color transparent, don't know if it supported more than 256 colours

So I guess it's something like a transparent gif, which may look ugly.. But in most cases the avatar looks good on any background ;]

I haven't had a harder time navigating a forum before and this is the first time I'm frustrated at working with a forum. Although it kinda looks cool, it's massively inaccessible. Either it needs to be reverted back to the old one permanently, pull it down temporarily and fix it or apply Trap17's skin because the latter one works a lot better yet different from the default skin. At least that skin IS workable.

However, I do praise the use of AJAX/CSS but this skin is unusable, I'm actually more agitated with this skin than anyone who had a hissy-fit with the Facebook update >.<"!

The full grey skin is excellent, compared to the 2 blue skins (especially the one that was too blue and made Astahost look like a children's forum).

Is the skins on auto-rotate at the moment?

Hmm... I dunno trap17's new skin was hot but now astahost new skin is even hotter, I think I will leave trap for asta now because of the new skin

yeah, I agree this new skin for astahost is cool, even though I was getting use to the blue one, which was quite interesting, but I guess this one is more professional for a hosting service

I'm wondering if you could integrate a theme switcher into the forum, where forum users can choose a theme they want from a predetermined set of themes. This would allow users better flexibility to see which theme they would personally prefer, sort of adding a personal touch to the forum.

I agree that the expand/collapse isn't remembered, but I hope it can just be easily fixed (or not).

I have to say that this skin is still 100x better than what was installed when this topic was created. That was such a mess.

I prefer the old one but this skin is far better than what ever was going on with that blue disaster yesterday. The design is OK, lets be honest there are a hundred thousand BB templates out there (if not more) and most of them look pretty much the same. I do think it looks a bit girly for the target audience, but that is just opinion.

I do miss the super simple boxes that let me look at the most recent new topics and most recent new posts with just a glance. I typically check the page two or three times a day and I lied the ability to see what was going on in one look. "Today's Active Topics" and "View New Posts" seem to contain the same data for me currently. The active topics is kind of useless given this board propensity to add new post to topics that are several years old. Case in point the "where can I find web templates" topic. Someone decides to make their one and only post in a three year old thread and that constitutes an active topic? On the previous system I could tell at a glance that was an old topic being dug up right away. I dislike having to look for then wait for information that is easily presentable otherwise. A new Topic option at least would be nice given that we have the completely useless top 20 options. (And really does anyone care who the top 20 people with time on their hands happens to be?) Basically why make information harder to find? This is an especially good question when the board (at least at one point) purports to have a professional stance.

I am aware my post sounds rather negative. Please realize that is not my goal per se. I like the the Asta community and the Hosting is absolutely top notch. I simply do not believe in changing something that works fine for the sake of changing it. On the positive side I am so very glad the stunningly useless shout box is no longer atop the forums.

My main concern is usability over aesthetics. If the skin is usable and it's visually appealing, the better. The original skin when this topic was created, it was too bright and not accessible at all, I was basically fuming lol, I've never seen such poorly designed skin in my life.

However, the use of AJAX was cool.

This one is a lot more usable and I have no problems.
