I name the 2nd of December...this will be the day of the FIRST (not the last ofc) crippliing security hole found in the final release...I predict January 20th will be the FIRST (not the last ofc) security "Patch" for Vista..with ofc many of these incidents to follow.. Ms have announced that they will NOT lock the copy of Vista down to the pc you unfortunatly install it on..this means that now you WILL be able to to change to a diff harddrive or change Gphx card without buying a NEW copy of Vista (this was thier plan) because when it was announced there was an outcry on the net about it so they had to about face and announce they wouldnt do this! But if your unlucky enough to buy it from a shop preinstalled..guess what? that copy of Vista WILL be locked down!! so no upgrading for you!! But hey its got 3d menus!!! and it "kinda" works with dual procs WOW!!!!I must go buy it as soon as it comes out!!! Yes I am joking!! this garbage would Never get installed on my precious equipment!!

Well, I suggest that you wouldn't get Vista until the first Service Pack appears, do you remember Windows XP without any service pack? It was/is so unstable and full of holes, Vista will be the same, but I think that in the year 2008-2009 it will be the most used Windows version or maybe not who knows.. But in the year 2009 where will Linux be? It will also get much better

Windows vista, hell, any oem that offers vista will burn. I ran the R2 beta and boy did it kill my laptop which has 512 mb of ram and 1.73 ghz proc. Their Aero graphics system is pretty cool but vista functions best when min graphics are used. Microsoft also has blocked access to the vista kernal. As of now all security software must be microsoft made. Hehe, how monopolistic of them. Its such a disgusting OS that i can't even talk about it.

Microsoft Photosynth
Amazing photo collection product from Live Labs (6) A few days ago, Live Labs released a plugin for Firefox. It had the name Photosynth. I was curious
to see what it was, so I checked out the site. It said that it uses photos and puts them in
3-dimensional space. I downloaded the plugin (restart of Firefox was not required) and was amazed.
You'll need Windows with IE or Firefox. Mac does not work, just like it said. I've tried.
When you first see the page, you'll see a photo in the center and many dusty dots around it.
When you hover your mouse over the page, distorted squares will come up. Click on anyone of....

The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 (5) The US Congress passed a bill into law this week, entitled, "The Adam Walsh Child Protection and

MicroSuck.Com: The Microsoft Eradication Soceity
(9) I can't remember how I came upon this site - but it's hilarious. They call themselves
Microsuck and the site is the closest and most daring imitation of the main Microsoft.Com site

all about providing you with as many alternatives as you can find to using Microsoft products -
specially OSes. They've got a whole bunch of cool and funny articles going on about why you
should abandon MS products and use something else. Also hosted are a cart load of taunting intervi....
Last Names When Signing Up For Stuff?
A question about so much info (6) Now, as a kid (well, I still am, are... Which is it? Anyway, I still am a kid) I was always taught
"Never tell anyone your last name or address online!" and now all these websites are asking for last
names and addresses... Why? Is it just if you upload illegal content they want to track you down I
guess? I'm new to computer web hosting I guess, but it seems like geocities never asked for
that... Thanks.....
Domain Names And Trademark Disputes
How these two relate (2) Domain names are by the Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN:
http://www.icann.org/) and the names can be registered through ICANN approved registrars. Once you
register a domain, your name, home address and telephone number can be accessed by anyone on the
web, unless you protect it through a proxy, showing the proxyhost's information. Most people use
this to protect their personal information, but those with bad intentions do so to spam. But my
discussion point is, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO: http://www.uspto.gov/....

Microsoft Comic Chat
(8) Well, its nothing new, but does anyone remember comic chat from windows 95? I've been trying to
find an xp version, but I'm 99% positive ms did away with it after 95. Its a pity. This chat
program was amazing. You picked a character, and the setting for the room, and then you entered and
it looked like a comic strip. You had a emotion wheel and each character had something like 8
emotions. You could select the emotion, type your message in and it would show up in the strip.
Also, we banned people for this, but you could tie up a whole room by pressing enter a who....

Squaters And Domain Names
Help Squater has stolen my domain (5) If there is anyone out there who is familiar with this scenario PLEASE PLEASE help me. I had a
domain for a while for my band which was basically the name of my band. I had it registered for a
year through 123cheapdomains.com. Like an idiot I let it lapse for about a month before renewing
it. I did however renew it. This was about three or four weeks ago that I renewed it. When I
renewed it the WHOIS lookup showed the domain as being registered to me but expired. Then when I
renewed it showed me as being the person who renewed it but said that my status was pendin....
Best Place To Buy Website Names
(24) ummmm, not sure if this post should go under this section, but here it is anyway. well actually the
title was the question really, but i have a couple of other questions to add What are you actually
buying when you register a domain name? Where is the name kept if it is not hosted? why do the
prices differ so much? who gets the money? why does the name only last 1 year? how do they
dissappear if they are hosted? I realise these questions might be too easy for some people, but not
for me! thanks chris (Chris I moved it here since it's not a tutorial) /smile.gif....
