| | I installed php on computer at one point, then deleted it because, well I'm not exactly sure why but that's another story. Anyway, now my .exe files won't open. I've been trying to download Xammp but it won't open. Do I have to edit the registry? And if so how in the world do I do that? All I know is regedit. |

How did you delete it ? the PHP installation I mean. Moreover, what Windows version you're using, if your exe don't work, why not make a fresh installation and use your computer normally! ?  I never had this problem, but when I installed a WAMP server on Windows, I downloaded the latest stable php mysql and apache and installed them and everything worked. Maybe the file you're trying to execute is bad ? maybe it is not an exe file at all ? You gave not much info to find a solution..

Try downloading this zip file. Unzip it and then run that .bat file inside to see if it restores the EXE file extension.

one more question I have, I ran that zip folder you had, but I can't try to run that Xammp again because it keeps trying to open it in windows media player (because I thought that was where MD5 files were supposed to be opened). How do I redirect it to get it to open right?

Try to open Windows explorer. Than click on TOOLS -> Folder Options. From there choose a tab named File Types. Then search for extensions you cant open and restore their default program that opens them.

O.K. I checked that folder but there is no reset to default, but the .job folder has an (x) and cant open and my MD5 is wrong, I know because I was trying to figure it out and I was changing it. Can someone tell me what they are supposed to be?

using old hard drive as an external and recovering files (4) Hi everyone, New to the forum. I need somehelp! My old laptop died before I could make a backup,
so I was hoping I could use the old hard drive on my new computer. I bought an external hard drive
adapter for it (USB system) and it will only let me recover files from a sub-user, not the main,

I can't get it to work (3) I have a 2.8 Dual core machine with a 17 inch monitor, 2 hard drives, a dvd burner, and a 350w power
supply. I have an 800w rated UPS, which according to the paper is supposed to give me around 8
minutes of power during a blackout. This is more of an issue than for most people, as here we have
an average of 8 power cuts a day during the 8 or 9 months of summer weather. The problem is that my
UPS doesn't really help any, because in a power cut it will go off as well for a second, and
then it comes back to life, but in that second my computer has gone off, and even tho....

Need Some Help With Starting An Old Computer.
(4) My younger (mentally challenged heh!) brother got a PS2 a couple of days ago and hasn't touched
his computer since. My mum wanted me to start it up for her to do some online research for something

Problem With Xammp And Deleting Temp Files
(2) I have a problem with Xammp and don't know if anyone here can help me out. The people at the
Xammp forum arent very helpful, but I got a little info out of them. My Xammp worked at first when
I went to localhost/xammp, but then for some reason, it didn't. Come to find out, it is because
something was deleting it's temp files, least that's what they say at Xammp's forum. I
run a program called Clean-Up! that gets rid of cookies and temp files and such, but there is no way

Find Out A Files Original File Type
(6) Hi, is there any way to find out a file's original file type/extension? My friend gave me this
song from a Chinese series and I had to play around with the extensions until I got it working (made
it .wmv). He doesn't even know the original format, but I'm guessing he's using wmv to
use it also. I tried naming it to .mp3 and .wma to see if those work...both failed. I like to keep
all my audio files as mp3 files. Was going to look for a program to convert it to mp3, but have a

Can't View PHP Files Using XAMMP
Any ideas why? (3) I have downloaded a couple of PHP scripts and have tried to open the with XAMMP in PHP but it
isn't working. The page pops up for a quick second, then disappears. I have no clue what is
going on. I am opening it with the PHP.exe file in XAMMP, is that what I am supposed to be using?
