| | Is anybody else having a problem with Macromedia's Flash Player not being recognized by various Web sites?
I've been to several sites lately that tell me that I have to have the latest Flash Player in order to view their "whatever" (YouTube.Com is one of these sites) yet when I go to Macromedia (Adobe) they say "Congrats, you have the latest player" and their little animated graphic plays just fine.
I've even removed the Flash Player and the Plug-In from my system, and re-installed, with the same end results...
Does anyone have any clues as to what might be going on?

So you're saying that my problem might be that I have the latest Flash Player (8) yet all of these sites that don't work for me (like YouTube) might be because they only work up to version 7? Somehow I don't think that's the case, or it would be a massive problem for millions of users... Hmmmmm....

If you can see flash v8 movies, flash is enabled and working for all versions. I suggest you try sites like http://www.newgrounds.com, there are flash menus all over the place. Now for websites with streaming content, that's another case. I sometimes need to refresh as well before the embedded player shows up. Which browsers have you tested it with ?

The Best Media Player?
- (20)
m trying to find a better media player than WMP, mainly for audio/music. Im trying to find one that
plays mp3's and mp4's, and if possible ogg and flac, but its not nessessary. ive tried VLC,
but it kept freezing on me everytime i made a playlist, possibly because i have too many
songs(1400+). winamp and itunes seem to be too bloated IMO, and WMP itself just lacks in playable
formats/features. Any recommendations? thanks in advance. My os is WIN XP =)...

I have a problem with my windows media player. It plays all videos in full screen mode. The media
player does not show any menu bars etc when it starts playing video. hence I cannot reduce the size.
I have tried pressing Alt + enter looking through options like video size, zoom etc, but to no luck.
Even try uninstalling and reloading different version but in all case the problem persists. I have
used ver. 9, 10 11 (beta). All versions are giving problems. Any help is appreciated. ...
Tried Windows Media Player 11 Beta?
- (34)
Has anyone here tried Windows Media Player 11 Beta? It sounds quite good and i'm in the process
of downloading it at the moment but it's just a bit over 20 megabites so it might take a while.
Anyone got any feedback on it? Is it good? Better than the previous versions? I've been using
RealPlayer for a while but I'm thinking i'll just try out this version and if it's any
good I may switch back... I'll see how it goes!...
Free Flash Authoring Programs

I'm sure this question is posed alot, and I may even get mobbed by an idiotic "use the search
button" crew for it, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any free multimedia flash authoring tools
available for download. It's not that I'm cheap, but I really don't have enough money to
buy the macromedia flash because it's insanely expensive. Are there any alternatives out there
for either mac of pc?...

Mp3 Player Problem: Sound In One Ear Only
- after dropping down on ground (8)
Okay... Hi everyone... Umm...my MP3 Player has recently had/developed a new problem. The thing is,
im a very, very, VERY clumsy person. I always drop things including my MP3 Player and my phone.
Before the last time i dropped the MP3 Player, it was working fine. But ever since the accident, it
has stopped giving me sound from one ear of my headphones. I am sure that my Headphones are alright
as they work fine on other systems like my PC and my Walkman and CD Player. But..i need to know how
to fix this problem. Often, the sound comes out of the other ear if i twist and tur...

Divx player plays almost all types of movie files including .avi. It plays them much better than a
normal player like winamp, or windows media player. The sound is also significantly better. You can

I'm not sure. In my opinion it's the best vidio player out there right now. Here is where

Review: Amarok
- The best Linux mp3 player available (1)
About: For the uninitiated, Amarok is an mp3 player for Linux which uses the KDE libraries. IMO,
Amarok is the best player for Linux, and now with the new release (1.3.6) they've added even
more features. Features: Amarok has got more features than any player I know of (Winamp
included). The best feature (IMO) is downloading the lyrics of the song that is currently playing
(using the artist and album name) from lyrc.com.ar . In addition to that, it also downloads a
thumbnail of the album cover of the song currently playing from Amazon.com and it gets sto...
