If i'm not mistaken .m4p is the protected format that iTunes uses. Because of the DRM, .m4p files are not supposed to be converted, so the only way to play them is with iTunes or on an iPod or if you burn them to a CD as .wav files. If you are want to play your friend's iTunes Music Store songs on your computer, you will need to authorize your computer to play them. Then you will have to put your friends iTunes Username and Password.

MP4 isn't a protected format of Apple. It was developed by the same group (MPEG - Motion Picture Experts Group). This is what urbandictionary says about MP4: QUOTE A newer compression codec better than mp3 which is over 10 years old. Mp4 can contain audio and/or video data. Music encoded in mp4 is a higher quality than mp3 because the mp4 codec loses less of the original source. Mp4's are also smaller than mp3's. Higher compression, better quality, smaller files: its amazing that no one has heard of mp4. Source: UrbanDictionary.ComFor more cool info on MP4 go to these sites: 1. Urm, just a short note, M^E, he was talking about m4p, not mp4. m4p IS a protected format by iTunes, but mp4 is different, and belongs to the same family as mp3. Funny how you mix up the letters you get different things altogether...

Do I have the thing for you. J Hymn QUOTE The purpose of the Hymn Project is to allow you to exercise your fair-use rights under copyright law. The various software provided on this web site allows you to free your iTunes Music Store purchases (protected AAC / .m4p) from their DRM restrictions with no loss of sound quality. These songs can then be played outside of the iTunes environment, even on operating systems not supported by iTunes and on hardware not supported by Apple.

iTunes' .m4p Music-files With Bad Quality?
- iTunes, files. music (6)
Hi @ all! Some days ago I registered at www.itunes.at (iTunes Austria) to download music from
Apple's great iTunes music store. At first everything looks really good and fine... the design
of the shop, the iTunes software and everything round it/them is amazin... typically for MAC. But
when I bought my first song form the music service (3 Doors Down - Kryptonite *g*) I realized that
the quality of the file is only about 128 Kilobits (!?) I was really angry because I thougt that
Apple represents "high quality" so that everything from this company really is "real...

Problem With Xammp And Deleting Temp Files
- (2)
I have a problem with Xammp and don't know if anyone here can help me out. The people at the
Xammp forum arent very helpful, but I got a little info out of them. My Xammp worked at first when
I went to localhost/xammp, but then for some reason, it didn't. Come to find out, it is because
something was deleting it's temp files, least that's what they say at Xammp's forum. I
run a program called Clean-Up! that gets rid of cookies and temp files and such, but there is no way
to configure it to not get rid of Xammps files. But I was wondering somethin...
Find Out A Files Original File Type
- (6)
Hi, is there any way to find out a file's original file type/extension? My friend gave me this
song from a Chinese series and I had to play around with the extensions until I got it working (made
it .wmv). He doesn't even know the original format, but I'm guessing he's using wmv to
use it also. I tried naming it to .mp3 and .wma to see if those work...both failed. I like to keep
all my audio files as mp3 files. Was going to look for a program to convert it to mp3, but have a
question. I highly doubt this file was originally a .wmv file since it's jus...
