QUOTE This is just stupid... if they do that, I am sure EVERYONE will just keep their current Windows OS or will current Windows versions also be affected allong with Office? to say that everyone will stick with there old os is abit unrealistic... theres always someone that has some use for the "new" features... but since most wont...and most dont even know what they are...(i am one of those) if it come with the price you mentioned.... plus a yearly fee... ouch... QUOTE So if I am understanding this correctly, you will have to purchase a user license for $200 AND PAY A YEARLY FEE? I am asking the question again... did they make this much news with there other os ...releasing news about it months in advance of the release...and if not (because i never heard anything)..then what so speical about longhorn....or is all about the new payment plans?

Hmm. I don't seem to recall much advertisement about XP or 2000 or ME before the release even occurred, in a sense these three OSes really weren't all that different from 98 SE, just some cosmetic and security enhancements. Not much to talk about you know. I think maybe the enhanced advertisement is because competition is heating up. Apple does tremendous advertisement for all the new releases of it's OSes (something that made me think the Longhorn hype is modelled after...) and the Linux community is growing tremendously and becoming more mainstream. Previously, there was no Mac OS X and Linux was smaller...

Change The Windows Clock
Make your clock Longhorn-like. (0) Windows XPs clock is quite boring, and loading the calender can be irritating due to the fact it
pops up in a new window. In Longhorn/Vista a better clock was added, but not all of us want to make
such a radical change, so Ying Han made LClock. To get this Longhorn style clock first head over
to http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Enhan...nt/LClock.shtml and download LClock. Once your
download is finished open the archive and run the program, this will install LClock on your system.
It is really just a case of pressing next, but remember to choose if you want LCl....

"small Secret" On Longhorn
(10) The programmers say that he has a "small secret" on longhorn, that he is to be argued public. The

Longhorn does not go to be based on NET Framework. Perhaps but it is not an bad notice! We wait

nucleus of the operative system. Instead of this, Net Framework goes to be the base of other

Microsoft Windows Longhorn
(17) Has anybody heard about Microsoft's next generation of Windows? It's named Longhall, after
the Longhall Pub under/near the main microsoft building or something like that. I saw it on the news
last night, and it looks quite spiffy, but will be (as usual) full of bugs and viruses and stuff. I
think it runs on a touch screen, and most of the functions looked similar/same, but they have given
it a major cosmetic overhaul so stuff lights up when you touch it and other spoofy stuff.. Anyway, I
tried to find out more about it, but it seems there's no info anywhere.....
Codenamed "longhorn"
Mirosoft's newest OS.... (18) Just wanted too Discuss Longhorn, Microsoft's newest OS. Apperently they are strugling to get it
finished. MS was planning to unveil a new technology for searching large Disks and a new graphics
proccesing method... but they have ditched both of these new exiting things..... in the end will it
be worth the $300-$400 MS is sure too charge for it?..... I think in their best interest they shuld
slow down and make sure the new OS is really good. If Microsoft keeps rushing to finish OSs (ex: win
NT-ME) microsoft's days are numbered....) Anyone else heard anything.........
