yeah, I think I might do that as well! It's only a few hundred MB, not a huge download! But I am still going to send the CD back to adobe and get a replacement, at least I then have a hard copy of it if I ever need one! Thanks -jimmy

Makes sense to get Adobe to refund your rightful property. Just i thought that you might as well get your money's worth during the month or so that it'll take them to replace that cd.

Why not just use a peer to peer network to download a pirated version for the cd image. If you bought the software, and have your own unactivated license key, you aren't violating anything in the EULA by using someone else's media to install it.

Another idea yes, but personally I don't like using peer-to-peer networks because of the fact that they can be littered with virus's! I would prefer to download it from a reputable source (like adobe's website) and not from some person who could have tampered with the software ( god only knows what they could try and steal from my computer!) Thanks for the suggestion though! -jimmy

I completely agree with you on this general point. Usually, these peer-to-peer sites are not agreed for officially selling software, they usually steal a software and give it to you. So, they help you stealing software. And, of course, if you accept that they steal from the software manufacturer, you should accept that they steal from your own computer. I think that the only way to work safely is buying your computer with an original software, and buy each piece of additionnal software you put on it, and reading the warranty terms concerning this. Even in the freeware world, there are sometimes bad surprises, which make me recommend that you have an efficient backup/recovery methodology in case of bad software install leading to minor or major system troubles.

Anyone Tried Photoshop CS3?
(25) Has anyone here installed the beta of CS3? If so, how do you find it? Do you think it's worth
the upgrade? I don't know if it's only because it's a beta, but for one, it loads much
faster than CS2 for me. I like minor things about it, such as the redesigned tools bar, the dynamic
resizing of palette windows, quick select, and smart filters, but I'm not sure that's worth
my money to go and shell out for it. The rest of the new stuff I wouldn't use enough to offset
the cost. Here is a list of the new features: So what do you think? QUOTE A ....

Photoshop Cropping Problem
(9) All right. For most of my Photoshop work, I use Photoshop 6.0. Yes, I know it's old, but it
gets the job done, not to mention I just don't have the money of Photoshop CS or Photoshop CS2
right now. But I'm getting off topic. Anyways, a few months ago, when I went to crop a
picture, it wouldn't crop all the way. It would crop to a certain point and then just stop and
refused to go any further with the cropping box. It seems to only form squares and sometimes
horizontal rectangles, but only to a certain extent. However, when I opened Adobe Photosho....
A Free Graphic Design Program That Could Equal Photoshop?
(36) The past few years of my designing experience have been accomplished mainly by using a copy of my
friend's father's Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0 CD. But my computer had been bugging me lately and
i had no choice but to reformat it, at the same time wiping away any trace of the program.
Unfortunately for me, i hadn't made a copy of the CD myself and i feel so much regret and
remorse over that incident. Still, i have to look towards the future. I've went to the Adobe
website and in no way am i going to pay 600 bucks for one program that i use once every week. A....
Is There Software To Handle .PSD Images?
other than Photoshop ... (5) Hello everyone, Do you know any other piece of software that can handle the manipulation of .PSD
images other than Photoshop? I actually have Photoshop 8.0 CS, but I'd like to know if there
was a simpler application to use. I don't need any sophisticated tools, really. All I want is
for that application to allow font and color editing of .PSD files. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Adobe Buys Macromedia
(24) This topic was brought to my attention last Thursday at school and I just wanted to know what was
everyone's opinion about Adobe buying out Macromedia? There will be good and bad things about
this merger. Like for example with less companies competing with Adobe, this may mean that Adobe
products will rise in prices /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0"
