All Images Don't Show Up When Published! - Site looks OK when previed on computer

First attempt to publish the site didn't work to good.

I have all the images used to test in /images/ folder and it's my first attempt on using CSS so it may be botched on the css level My CSS file are here at:style.css.

I created a index.html file and uploaded it together with all the images used. In the #header part 1 image show up but not the other (second image show not the first). Background image does not show up in the header.

I thought it had to do with permissions but that don't seem to be the case since I can view the images individually clicking on them here in the images/ folder

My index page comes up when I use http://www.ngc.astahost.com/
or
http://www.ngc.astahost.com/index.html

The style tried are 3 column layout with header and footer.

i've viewed your site. and i found out that you are having problems with image filename.

we are hosted an a linux server. linux/unix system differs from microsoft. why? because filenames with different CaSe will be treated differently. so, please make sure that you are having the same name in HTML such as "Moni.GIF", not "moni.gif".

by the way, you are using MS frontpage now? i suggest u use dreamweaver instead.

OK, thanks for the tip with the filename. I forgot to remove <duh> the first letter 'caps' that seem to happen sometime with windows save or using caps... </duh>

I didn't think about case/CaSe being treated differntly. I'll try again tonight after work to see if that wis the only issue/

I don't use frontpage, I'm using evrsoft 1st Page 2000 and EditpadLite for the css part. I'm re-using examples from tutorials and forms. Experimenting with the changes that seem to be evident when changing code in the css script or the html page. As for dreamweaver, I may get it at a later time. For now I'm reading up on website building and teaching myself (with this community's help) web-creation.

I'm still trying to figure out what folder to put everything in... LOL

ok, i'm going to point out the mistakes on the image coding:

http://www.ngc.astahost.com/images/LindyLogo216x132.gif this is the image you're using for the upper left corner...

it should be:
http://www.ngc.astahost.com/images/LindyLogo216x132.GIF

oh damm! jajajaja

when i was doble cheking the images i was going to point out u seemed to correct it..

so, for the future the .gif and .GIF cases r also important

first: if you're not sure abot the name u used, u can check'em fastarer tan ftp or logging in using the http://www.ngc.astahost.com/images/

second:
for the kind of layout u want to used, u should try CMSimple...

I took the luch break to play with my setup and looking at all the errors I made...

I see some other issues that was not obvious when looking on the computer but they show up online.

Thanks for the link rapco. I'll look at it when I get home toninght. I used both cpanel and the ftp session to rename the gif files and I downloaded a copy of the css and html files to edit the text. (should I stay with all lowercase letters in picture names etc to make it easier to see the error? what are your opinions on that?)

I realize the .GIF was done automaticly when I was editing the pictures. As I said I didn't even look...

i have had the same problems some years ago... so it's better to stablish a standard name patron... all images in small cases..... when uploading (WS_FTP for example) there's an option to make all files samllcase... because as you said, the GIF was generated when u were making the image, this way it won't matter if this happends again...
